[Log] Halloween Party

Halloween Log
Log Comm | Network Comm | OOC Comm | Navigation
Halloween has fast descended upon the Daybreak campus. Though it might seem in odd taste to have a triumph against humanity’s terrifying aspects further celebrated with a festival about all things scary and spooky, the Academy’s rationale is that Halloween is indeed the perfect time for everyone to let loose their restraints and vent their fears and emotions, to be further cleansed and prepared for the trials ahead.
In one sense, it’s a ritual, of sorts, an emotional purging. In another sense, it’s simply another excuse to have fun. It can be taken however you like.
A. Halloween Dance
Professor Urtz Cromwell has been gracious enough to agree to take over the duties for organizing a more formal Halloween event this year. While the Academy has done the catering as usual, unlike last year, there are no eerily realistic grotesque tidbits haunting the dinner tables. For those who are more gracefully inclined, the hall has been rearranged to provide a large and airy space to dance and socialise with those attendance; for those who need a break from the chatter or might need to touch up their outfits, little alcoves have been provided for privacy. Costumes aren’t quite compulsory, but they are strongly encouraged; it’s Halloween, after all.
B. Fairground Fun
Carnivals have always been another autumn tradition throughout the world and on the Quad one has been set up for students and faculty alike. A small ferris wheel and carousel had been rented out, lining the quad are booths ran by student volunteers offering games such as bottle tossing and cheap, indulgent treats such as fairy floss, candied apples and elephant ears. Or there are more homey old-fashioned games like apple-ducking all in the name of good fun.
C. Haunted Halls
This year’s haunted house has a slightly different angle than the norm. As well as the usual range of scares and thrills that come with a haunted house personally fitted out and supervised by the eccentric faculty, there are quiet, private rooms in which students and staff can sit and confess what haunts and plagues them in their darkest hours. All those who volunteer to listen to such things are sworn to secrecy as to what they hear through magical pact, and may even be able to offer some advice under the veil of anonymity...
