It's clear enough that this daemon they're standing before already knows that they don't want to lose Vivi, though he might not necessarily know of the vain efforts that some of them had made in an attempt to delay the inevitable.

[Despite it arguably being a bad idea (and her very much being aware of that), she's very strongly considering the idea of asking if it would be possible to renegotiate on Vivi's behalf; it isn't like they have many options left, not at this point.]
