He is exaggerating a little; it's probably just one class he's actually failing, with the rest being kinda low but still, y'know, passable. But close enough in his head. He winces a little.

"Because I can't cast spells," he says. "Except runes. Like, I can do all the theory stuff, but when I try to cast, nothing happens."
