That depends on how you look at it. I might be alone in a system that doesn't care, but I do have the law on my side. And trying to enact justice without it would make me a mere vigilante...a criminal in my own right. I think it's better to be weighed down by selfish coworkers than actively opposed by them.
Besides, can unilateral acts ever be considered truly 'just'? There is a reason judges aren't involved in the identification and apprehending of suspects, after all.
