The simplicity of the her certainty makes it easy to internally refute but impossible to argue with. What can he say? Nothing would be sufficient to change her mind except proving her wrong and anything he could do to do that... he doesn’t want to. Why would he? It’s not as if he wants to be as bad as he is, it’s just hopeless to try and stop.
