The daemon's expression darkened a little, his expression becoming more thoughtful and careful, but clearly concerned.

"...That would match up with many things I've seen when it comes to daemons being struck by those kinds of purging magics. ...It would seem what you might be afraid of has some truth to it. Somehow, you possess some form of daemonic power or influence that is great enough that anti-daemon magics or countermeasures might affect you."

The reply is frank, as the daemon closed his eyes for a moment to think.

He opened his eyes again, and trained them straight at Yuya. Though normally the professor's gaze could be piercing and harsh, he actually managed to look sympathetic to his student.

"I can understand why you might be confused or scared, but I owe it to you to be as honest as possible. This kind of discovery isn't... reassuring, to most people. What you're facing is a great unknown, and the path ahead to the truth might lead you to things you might not like to hear. It will be your choice how far you pursue it.
