The vampire leaned on his desk, his expression thoughtful, but incredibly serious.
"Daemonic powers, influence, and more are complex, and even fluid. Contracts are the most common way for power to be granted, and often the most stable, but there are many avenues of approach to affecting a human. It sounds like there's something else at work here to me."
With that, he stood more upright and flicked his cape to the side a bit.
"However, do not be discouraged. What you've described to me hasn't suggested any malignancy to you. I do not believe you are in any danger, but even so, vigilance might still hold the key to finding your answer. That said, I would avoid any anti-daemon magics you can in the meantime. It seems like whatever wards the school itself have will not hurt you, but I cannot say what others outside of Daybreak might do."
