Either way you've somehow managed to step foot in one of them and it's like you've been pulled into another dimension, filled with dark, swirling purple fog. It might even be a sight familiar to some of you.

What might not be familiar is the 15-foot tall shadow ripping itself up out of the ground, eyes glowing bright as hot coals as it stares you down.]

You know, if this were my forest, you'd TOTALLY be dead right now! Luckily for you, it's not. Unluckily for you, I'm not feeling that charitable.

You can look at me that way all you want. I know just as well as you do that there's no way for me to prove it one way or another.

[He says it bluntly with a flat look. That sounds like some kind of deep therapy thing. Right now he's just some dumbass in a void pit with a questionable noodle man.]

Your priority is to be the big scary guy, keep up your reputation and keep people away or something, whatever, I get that. It's stupid, but I get it's your thing.

[His hands go up placatingly like he's not just trashing Avery's groove.]

But you're working with daemons here, and kids who also work with daemons, and who've been through all kinds of horrifying junk. Like it's really kind of terrible the things that people here have been through and we should probably all be in therapy. I'm pretty sure there isn't a single teacher here who couldn't kill me if I were alive and there's plenty who could do it again. Showing that you can kill doesn't... do anything here.

Whatever you want to get, you can definitely get it easier without the whole "I can murder if I want to" thing. Like asking. Earning respect. You know, normal stuff. But not just that, if you don't show this off, then whenever you do do anything with your power like on a mission or things like that, then it's a big surprise. And it makes people wonder what else you can do or have done and whatever's in someone's head is usually way scarier, you know? But if you show it off, then they know everything, every detail, except that you won't kill them because you're a teacher here. It also means that whatever kid told you that you weren't scary was able to needle you into trying to prove it.

They actually aren't too different from what the kid is wearing now, actually, albeit with more modern materials, the edges artfully (and artificially) torn and worn to a nice, spooky finish]
