[ With the Herald decidedly defeated and morale oddly low, the proposed summer break immediately after doesn't offer solace for some. Which is why, sometime in the very early morning of July 7th, two small bamboo trees appear in the main common rooms of Lumiére and Aube. Placed on a nearby table are slips of colorful paper, and a note written in English, French and Japanese placed on the nearby wall:

MAKE A WISH!

Why not try? Write a wish, read what others have to say, or maybe scoff at how silly and pointless this is. Or try to catch the Tanabata fairy as she carries a bamboo planter around campus. ]

A wish...?

[Kokoro stares at the trees for a while, pencil in hand, apparently thinking very hard. She eventually gives up and starts reading the other wishes on the tree.]

[Kohaku put up a wish on one of the bamboo trees in Aube that read "please let nothing else explode this summer." in Japanese.]

[Ryoga almost put down one wish, realizing it could be read, he rips it, and writes another in Japanese: Please let me find love]

[ Rex wanders up, examines the scene and enters a state of deep contemplation for a full five minutes.

And then writes "No" before leaving.

He's not in a good place even by Rex standards, so he might be caught coming back to remove it later. ]

[Gunvolt really wasn't a superstitious type. But he'd remembered hearing about Tanabata when he was a young child in Japan. He'd never really been old enough to do it back then. So when he saw the sign to make a wish and leave it attached to the tree, he first thought about skipping it.

...But after everything that happened, the close call with the Herald, and... well. It had been a rough time. Maybe a little sentimentality wouldn't be such a bad thing.

He actually writes out and hangs three wishes. Two are in German, one is in Japanese. "For those who gave everything for us, may we build a better tomorrow," is the first. "Let us all look out for each other so we can build that better world" is second. The third, the one in Japanese, is a little more hastily written and put up when he thinks no one's looking: "I'd really like to meet Monarch someday."

...He's still a teenager, after all. Good thing he doesn't know it was Minako who put these up.]

[Lia's putting one up right about now that says Please grant my friends safety.

She waves when she notices Kokoro though.]

[Kokoro waves and turns to Lia.] You've chosen your wish already, then?

Mm, I have. [She'll take it down briefly to show Kokoro.]

Maybe it's a little silly, especially after being so adamant that we don't need outer powers to handle things, but...

But it's traditional for many of the students and faculty, and so it's good to try. I see. [She smiles.] That one's a good wish. I really can't think of one that's good to make.
