1. Tokyo Daylight

[For a chunk of his vacation, Ren's heading back to Shibuya and staying with a family friend in Yongen Jaya. Which means he's helping out at Leblanc, the small coffee and curry shop (and staying in the attic). In addition to helping out there, he'll be around town, hanging out with his friends and absolutely not getting into any mischief. Folks heading to Tokyo will have ample time to stop by and say hello]

2. Beach Episode

[After spending some time in Tokyo, Ren's going to take full advantage of the school trip and spend it relaxing at the resort and... working part-time at the cafe. What? Gotta keep those barista skills sharp. He'll spend enough time swimming to develop a nice tan and with his part time job there's always cash around to have good food with some friends or hit the various shops and browse. That said, he's not one to just stick to the tourist areas, and he can also be found wandering the towns and trying shops and cafes the locals use.]

[Kohaku ordered a latte while admiring the view without paying too much attention until she actually glanced at Ren's face and did a double take.]

Are you sure this is okay? The owner won't mind, will he?

[ Maybe Minako should have thought about this before walking into Leblanc along with Ren, dragging a roller back in tow and bowing her head briefly out of habit. She could have just gotten a hotel with the money she saved up from work, but that would make any other travel arrangements for the rest of the summer incredibly tight.

At least she thought ahead and picked up a souvenir for Ren's guardian. ]

[ How could you forget Algebra 2 Kohaku????? ]

It's fine, don't worry.

[ Ren opens the door to reveal a middle-aged man with a somewhat grumpy expression and goatee polishing some cups while a young woman with long an enormous crown of red hair chows on some heavenly-smelling curry at one of the stalls. As they enter, his expression brightens ]

"Hey, you're back."

[ He then spies Minako and a smirk plays across his face ]

"Oho, and who's this?"

Two? Uh...math?

Summer job?

[ Ren nods and smiles faintly ]

Something like that. I get restless if I'm not keeping busy.

[ Closing the door behind her, she peers from over Ren's shoulder before she smiles brightly. ]

Futaba-chan, right? Ren-kun's told me all about you.

[prisoneroffate]

[ Futaba emits what can only be described as a squeak and rushes behind the older man, who laughs a bit. He turns to Ren ]

Sorry, she's still a bit shy. Is this the girl you mentioned on the phone? Minako, was it?

[missleading]

[ Oh, apparently she's meeting his surrogate family now instead of later. This is fine, she can roll with it. ]

That's right. We're in the same year. It's nice to meet you.

[ She bows politely to Sojiro. Minako has no idea what Ren has told him yet. Does he know they live on the same floor? That they're dating? She's not going to take any chances here. ]

[ Soujiro chuckles noticably ]

Nice to meet you. I'm actually getting ready to head out, so Ren can show you around. We'll be going out for sushi tomorrow, so make sure to be back by 6. The room's just how you left it.

[ And with that he departs with Futaba close behind, although she is examining Minako curiously. ]

M.. Mm. We will.

[ Minako stands there, watching Sojiro walk out with a dumbfounded look on her face. Did. Did he just give them his blessing? Does that mean they have to get married now? ]

[ Ren waves as Soujiro leaves, turning nonchalantly to Minako ]

Anyway, shall we? We're upstairs, I can help with your things.

[missleading]

[ It's like the two of them planned this, or like they're two peas in a pod. This is a dangerous household. ]

Sure, that sounds good.

[ She's tired from traveling, but is also eager to see this fabled attic apartment of his. ]

[ Ren leads Minako upstairs, helping carry her bags up. Upstairs is rather interesting, to say the least. It's a kind of loft that was clearly used as storage before Ren moved in, there's a mattress in the corner, a desk, a sofa and table, and a shelf with a number of items from around Shibuya. A plant in seemingly good health sits by the shelf, and behind the living area and stairs a number of bags of coffee and boxes of product can be seen stacked neatly, alongside a small but functional bathroom and shower. ]

It's a bit basic, but it works. You can take the bed.

[ Minako isn't quite sure what she expected, but this is a lot more homey than she thought it would be. It feels lived in, rather than just an extended storage area. She takes a few minutes to look around before turning toward him with a smile. ]

It's like you're a modern day Cinderella!

[ Minako pls. ]

Are you sure? I don't mind taking the couch. [ Even the floor would be fine, she's used to sleeping on a futon. ]

[ Ren laughs at that ]

Cinderella at least had a fireplace. And yeah, the couch is pretty comfortable judging by how often people seem to fall asleep on it.

We could get you a space heater instead.

[ Letting out an appraising hum, Minako walks over to the couch and sits down. ]

Wow, this is pretty comfortable. I don't know how easy it would be to fall asleep on this.

[ She adjusts in her seat before giving him a cute smile, patting the space next to her. ]

Probably a good idea.

[ Ren takes a seat besides her, casually putting his arm around her shoulders ]

It looks like Soujiro made some extra curry, so we've got dinner for tonight.

[missleading]

[ Minako gives him her full attention. ]

...You mean the curry you always talk about?

[ She's practically sparkling at him. Is she really going to be able to try it?! ]

That's the one! I can fix us some plates and bring them up if you want to settle, or we can eat downstairs.

I get antsy too, normally, but after getting stabbed by a necromancer I think I'm willing to take it easy for a little while.

[If anyone asked, her cover story was LARPing. That shut just about anyone up.]

[missleading]

[ But that would require moving! Or having him move! Minako leans into him, pausing to weigh her options. ]

We can eat downstairs.

[ She says, not moving. ]

That sounds unpleasant. I don't blame you.

[ He chuckles and kisses her on the head ]

You do have to stand up to do that.
