eudaimonikos: (a treatise of human nature)

Sitting by a hospital bedside is just so painfully cliche.

Michael does it for a while anyhow. He's there the whole time Tyzias is getting patched up, at least, hovering and bristling at various medical professionals. But after the activity dies down, and they're only waiting for her to wake up from her much-needed sleep, he starts to get antsy. Sitting here like this feels too...open. If people saw him doing it, they'd know he...what, cares about her?

But if he left, he'd feel bad. And he'd probably just sit in his office measuring out the time until he felt like it was safe to go back down.

So whenever Tyzias wakes up, the room will appear totally empty, until Michael drops the illusion of an empty couch he was holding up over the couch he was laying on. Was...was there even a couch in here to begin with? "Oh, you're up," he says casually, as if he wasn't hanging out here.
