Just when it seemed like it would make a meal out of the furious teenage girl, she bolted -- not to the side, but forward, where she could shoot Tsubaki point blank through one of those horrid legs. Hit or miss, she didn't stop running. She needed to get to Peter; she couldn't keep her protective shield up in two places at once, and one of them was going to be left vulnerable at all times unless they stuck together.
