[He looks surprised by Peter's grip on his shirt, then grateful as he lets Peter draw him back in. This is all a little awkward, hardly knowing the man before him, but he can't care. He offers the other man a weak smile]

[He might be crazy, to think there's anything left, but he's got to look. He moves, bones flickering a moment enough to make him stumble, but illuminating those broken pieces just a little ways away.
He kneels into the dirt before that scattered pile of shards. He shrugs out of his jacket, as best he can anyway until he can lay it out on the ground. And pile the shards on it bit by bit, biting back any noise. Unless someone wants to point out futility, he's got full intention in his mind to send the two away.]
