The Worst Surgery Ever Performed In Daybreak (due to the peanut gallery) [OPEN]
Who: Moriarty, Ekkehardt, and the people who want to rubberneck
What: Moriarty's getting spine surgery, and he invited whoever wants to come to watch! ...He'll have to be decapitated first, but at least the experience will be one of a kind.
When: January 17th
Where: An unused classroom in one of the class buildings.
Warnings: THERE'S GONNA BE A DEATH AND A SURGERY, FAM. Also chaos, but what else do you expect from this school?
[The day of the operation arrives - and Ekkehardt has done a wonderful job outfitting an unused classroom into an operating room, using the once lecture hall and turning it into something that looks a bit like one of the old operating theatres that used to be used back in the 19th century. Though it still retains a bit of that lecture hall air, it is still a clean, sterile space for what's about to be done.
The students and faculty that want to attend are outfitted accordingly and sterilized - and as they enter, they'll see Moriarty on the operating table in the center, already unconscious. There's a projector, which is - obviously - projecting Moriarty's torso, as a way for those who don't have a good look to keep up with what's about to happen.
This will probably devolve into chaos, but...well. Honestly, Moriarty wouldn't have it any other way.]

b. and onward
Are those a part of the professor, or is it something that occurs but they are no longer linked to him?
[He is keen to see where the insects specifically emerged from, studying the actual structure of the area as he can see it exposed.]

They're part of him. I believe they're caused by venting excess magic. [ He brushes away the abating stream of butterflies, waiting for things to clear up so he can get a proper look at the spine's damage. ]

[He will stay out of the way, of course, but he is certainly getting as close as allowed to see everything. He's well aware this isn't a normal body, but it is a body and he wants to learn what he can from it.]
Do the systems still function as normal, with the magic alongside them, or does the magic carry out processes the systems are meant to?

[ He brushes away another puff of butterflies, leaning in to look at the spine, using tools to pull back flesh to reveal bone. Giorno might not want to do the same unless he has a strong stomach. ] They appear to be attempting to act as a replacement for a spine he no longer has, while trying to heal it at the same time. Quite an unusual case.

Amazing. The force of will a living thing has to remain in that state.
[Okay, he is having some reaction, but in the form of absolute fascination with what he's seeing. There is a second head poking out over his shoulder now, golden with flat colored purple eyes. The familiar of sorts seems to have emerged from Giorno's shoulders and is studying alongside him, though completely silent. He provides no obstruction either, making himself completely intangible to avoid being in the way.]

[ Red slits flicker in the depths of his mask as he glances over his shoulder at that second head. ]
I hope your friend here is appropriately sterilized, or they'll have to wear the same clothing as everyone else. [ Everything is so weird today this might as well happen. It's fine. ] Just to follow proper safety procedures, you understand.

[He gestures lightly to the body, before looking to the other's masked face.]
Oh, of course... he won't go beyond intangible at the moment. Him being visible like this allows me to memorize things better is all. But he isn't physically there, so he cannot introduce any contaminates. If you would rather, I can have him pulled back in though... as I'm not sure I could actually sterilize him if he were to become tangible.

[ He continues his work, his movements deliberate and patient, as fast or slow as they need to be. Even if the exact specifications of his technique aren't something he's explaining step by step, it's clear that this is something he's used to. ]
Is he part of you? Or a separate entity that happens to share space? [ Both are possible. ]

[The teen hasn't lost an ounce of interest in the procedure, especially the anatomy as it was, and anything that was being done to change where things are or what they are to be doing.]
He is a part of me... something like a familiar... except he's more... a part of my soul. It's because of him I'm able to do things that got me brought here.
