The more things change... [open]
Who: Christo and you!
What: Christo comes back to school and immediately gets down to business. And deals with unwanted help.
Where: Aube dorms, network, around campus
When: Anytime February.
Warnings: none!
A. Why are you like this. -- Christo's room
"This has to be a joke."
It's not, of course. It never is.
The package that had arrived shortly after Christo's return had been unexpected, but not unwelcome--at least, not until he'd picked up on the lack of return address... and the hint of angelic radiance that clung to the box itself.
A note had lain folded on top of its contents:
"Christo,
I know you just left, but I thought I'd go ahead and put a care package for you anyway. I didn't get the chance you ask what you packed, but I thought it couldn't hurt to include a few packages of clean underwear for you just in case. Nothing's worse than going to change and realizing you didn't pack enough!
I've also included an extra toothbrush, some absolutely scrumptious cookies from that bakery down the street, some instructions on how to change a flat tire, and your horoscope for the week! :) (I've been learning how to use these "emojis" lately.)
Don't hesitate to give me a call if you need anything. You do have my number in your cell phone, right?
Yours,
You-Know-Who"
Christo stares down at the note for a moment longer, glances over at the contents of the box, and as his grip tightens, he accidentally manages to tear the note in half. "That idiot...!"
B. You have what -- network
un: yuie
Before I continue, I would like to apologize for my sudden absence. I didn't expect to be gone for as long as I was, but there were some matters back home that needed my attention.
For those of you I've yet to meet, my name is Christo and I will be acting as the RA for Aube dormitory's fourth floor. Should you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to let me know.
With that out of the way, I have a question:
Is it true that you have a Herald stored away somewhere on campus?
C. Out and about
Wildcard and TA-ing options! If you've just come to chat or have anything in mind, feel free to hmu

did you want to see him?
[She misses you, by the way.]

[Speaking of which...]
why did you have to go home??
no subject
In any case, the matter seemed mostly resolved by the time I left so there shouldn't be any more problems.
no subject
i guess thats ok though. we just got a new ra not too long ago!
no subject
I'll just have to save whatever cookies I decide to make for my new floor.
[he smiles the entire time he writes it.
Too much of a soft spot for children he supposes.]
no subject
noooooooooo i want cookies!!!
[This isn't fair.]

Is it really that bad?

Well then, I suppose I'm up for a challenge. I look forward to working with my fellow students to make the floor a place where we can foster a healthy educational environment.

I'll make sure I'm extra loud just for you. Also don't mind the small blond gremlin, he's mostly harmless.
no subject
That's a shame. I was hoping we could work together, but if you insist on being at odds, there's nothing to be done.
Still, my offer remains open. If you should need any help, either with coursework or just to get something off your mind, you're free to stop by at any time.
[he could bribe her with baked goods or tutoring, he supposes, but that's probably going too far.]

Not a fan of talking about my problems with someone I don't know. 'Sides, already know someone for that.
Surprisingly good on the whole schoolwork front, too.
no subject
But it is good to hear you're doing well in your studies. It definitely makes things easier, doesn't it?
[For him or for her? Who can say...]
no subject
It's... really not that hard? Like most of it is just shit I can pick up pretty quickly or it's easy to get an understanding of. Just 'cause I went to a shitty public school before doesn't mean I'm stupid.
[Of course she's taking this as him thinking he thinks she's stupid. Of course that's how this would play out. Always on the defensive.]

Given what it is, I would have expected a little more bloodthirstiness. No one's been hurt by it at all?

So you never know.

But I'd prefer to err on the side of caution, just in case.
A
Christo! I heard you had returned, so I had to drop by and greet you. Welcome back.
no subject
O, Oh! Yes, um...! Come right in, professor!
no subject
You're looking quite well. I trust that all of your urgent business back home was concluded amiably?
no subject
"Amiably" isn't the word I'd use, but it was taken care of. Hopefully there shouldn't be any more problems.

[Because Christo rushed off in such a hurry, and he seemed particularly frustrated when that happened. Something clearly had been stressing him out quite badly.]
Since you've been gone for awhile, is there anything you'd like to know about? It's been... busy, these past few months.
no subject
Unless there's been another incident?

[Valvatorez didn't stop to think how he might've heard about all of this; to be honest, he didn't need to. Christo was smart, he probably kept his ear to the ground the whole time.]
Beyond that, there's just been the usual cases of negative elements among humankind doing what they do and messing with what they shouldn't. Seems there were a couple of close calls in regards to a corporation looking to exploit Candles and a particularly militant Candle nearly breaking the Veil.
The information age is making it much harder to keep a lid on everything. Simply cannot be everywhere at once, especially as Outland incursions get more... aggressive.

Or perhaps he was just lost. Seeing that he has passed and looked through some of the same bookshelves over.
"...Maybe they wouldn't have it out here," he should be checking through something like the Vault instead. In which case, good on them. But also, it's not really helpful.
no subject
Normally he'd be more than willing to leave the daemon child to his own devices but there's something about this boy. Something familiar, maybe?
no subject
"N-no, nothing." He shook his head. Just wondering where humans are getting the idea how the dead work. Is all. Though he was wondering how to continue that if he is being watched.
How indeed.
"I just...needed a few books for classes."
Nailed it.

Among the things being brought out, however, is a completely unopened box filled with sheets of sandpaper. There is a note taped to the box, a whole sheet of paper with letters written largely-enough that 1) there's no mistaking what was written, and 2) even from that distance, Christo could read it if he tried: "I don't need this anymore. If anyone wants it, just take it. —DN"
The actual trash, she puts where it belongs. The box of sandpaper is placed on a table in the common area.
It's more likely that the student herself would be noticed more than what she's doing, though; those horns are rather hard to miss. Christo himself won't be noticed, as the girl's not paying any particular attention, so whether one approaches the other or not is entirely up to him.]
