How the Hat Stole the First Day of School [OPEN]
Who: Puella
What: A lot of stolen office supplies
Where: Campus
When: August 1st
Warnings: Hat Crimes
[It was now August. Summer would soon come to an end and all of them would have to go back to classes and work again. It's not really fair. Everyone should be allowed to play for just a little while longer. Some students weren't able to play at all.]
[Puella had a plan though.]
[The next time some teachers, professors went to go back to their desks, some of their things would've been missing. Pens, papers, staplers, textbooks, whatever seemed the most inconvenient at the time, it was gone. Unfortunately, Puella had no idea where to keep all this stuff. She had found a storage room in the secret teacher's lounge area to stuff it all in for now. It wasn't really a hiding spot per se, but it could be one of the last places someone would look. (Not many would suspect checking a utility closet for their missing utilities)]
[She kept sneaking off with people's things, hid in the wall tunnels, dropped it off, and rinsed repeated. Either until she was caught or the closet got too full. That should be enough to buy everyone more time!]

It's not the first time some miscreant has sneaked into his office to mess around with his supplies, but they at least had the decency to leave his pens out of it.
And so it's little wonder that Avery stalks the halls of the school, interrogating any student or fellow faculty member that seems the slightest bit suspicious, a fire in his eyes and a certain sharpness to his scowl.]
no subject
[And stopped, to turn around and walk back where she came.]
[Nnnnnope. Oh he mad. He mad.]
no subject
You sure seem awfully suspicious, kiddo. Feeling a little... guilty?
no subject
[She keeps the straightest face possible. Luckily, she also didn't have more paperwork on her at the moment too.]
no subject
[He emerges from the wall entirely and walks a slow circle around her, eyes narrowed.]
And your reasoning for skulking about the faculty offices when school has yet to start is...?
no subject
[Innocent.]
no subject
Well then... In that case, why don't you let me know which teacher you're looking for today? If they aren't around, I can always help you find them.
no subject
[It had to be someone that could easily play along. Who here was generally up for a good joke?]
...It's just Jailbreak. I can always keep looking myself!
no subject
You do know that that just makes me want to accompany you more, right?
no subject
If you want, but...
It's probably gonna be really boring stuff.
You probably don't want that.
[Just bland, uninteresting talk, between two troublemakers.]
[Super boring.]
no subject
[He sighs heavily]
Do you need a visit to the Lost and Found again? Because the more you keep lying to me, the more likely it is that that's exactly where you're going to go.
no subject
[She was getting nervous though.]
I'm not lying!
no subject
[It's a win-win as far as he's concerned. If she's telling the truth, he can either ignore it as a classwork thing or get in on something fun. If she's lying... Well. She'll just have to see, won't she?]
no subject
[STILL LOOSING IT.]
...Why...would it be a scheme?
[It's lost.]
no subject
Simple: either Jailbreak is involved, which automatically makes it some sort of scheme... or she isn't and you have a reason to lie.
no subject
I hid everything.
[Happy now?]
no subject
That "everything" wouldn't happen to include my office supplies, would it?
no subject
...I just wanted to stop classes from happening so soon, 'cause not everyone got a long break yet.
[And it's not fair.]
no subject
All that's clear is that Avery's is currently concocting some sort of plan.]
Tell you what. I've got a little idea.
I'll keep this little chat of ours a... secret. But in return, I need you to do something for me.
no subject
[But instead, no?]
...Really?
[Wait, better not get too hopeful yet.] ...What do I have to do?
no subject
[He stands up straight once again and walks in lazy circles around her, talking with his hands as he explains himself.]
I want you to sneak into the Banquet Hall kitchen, take as many egg cartons as you possibly can, and use them to egg the student dorms.
But!
[He stops and turns to face her, holding up a finger]
If you get caught, you're not to mention a single word of my involvement. On the other hand, if you aren't caught, I'll keep my mouth shut about you being the one to do the dirty deed. And then you won't be punished.
But surely someone as stealthy as you should find a task like this easy... right?
no subject
...That would delay things too. [It is more nefarious than what she normally does, so she'll have to be more careful. But, it could work?]
no subject
[If it gets her out there and away from his stuff, all the better!]
Just remember... not a word about my involvement in this. Do we have a deal?
[His fingers twitch. It'd be so easy to write up a contract, but he knows better. The school would have his head.]
no subject
[It might be fun, too. And a great way to hone some new skills.]
I promise not to tell anyone.
[Of course, Avery was not getting his stuff back either. He'll have to find it like everyone else.]
no subject
[He claps his hands together, then clasps them, looking positively delighted]
I'm sure you'll be just fine. Go get 'em, tiger!
