Despite certain disruptive events and ominous visions in the preceding month, August is seemingly still free of any problems.

That’s quick to change, however. Starting from the third of the month, strange, circular marks begin to appear on human students around the school - and, indeed, humans around the world. Those affected begin to feel incurably drowsy, something that no magical or mundane solution can seem to cure or relieve; eventually, they’ll fall asleep entirely, whether they want to or not, and enter a state of magical stasis. Not even nonhumans are immune, though whether they’re marked seems to be much more erratic.

Those who remain awake or are otherwise spared by the mark are free to do as they wish - the Academy won’t ask them to do more than keep themselves safe. But where each marked person falls in slumber, a portal will form; a strange tear in reality, offering glimpses of a surreal, nightmarish plane that differs vastly from individual to individual. One thing is certain; the cause of a victim’s seemingly endless sleep and these portals are linked somehow, and the only way to find out exactly how is to go through...and the only ones capable of doing so are those who are still awake.

[This...doesn't seem right. It's too dilapidated - too warped, for a mind like sherlock's. Chaotic organization? yes, absolutely, that he would expect. This...is wrong.

He glances over at the moth - just in time to see the flitting, making him turn to quickly try and see what it is - blue light forming around his hand, just in case he has to use his magic.]

[It skitters right out of sight when Moriarty turns, a dark presence soon forms from behind before another shadow lunges towards the man, sweeping with long, wicked claws]

[He materalizes his coffin, claws screeching along the side of it with a screech as he jumps up a few more steps.]

Fighting on uneven ground is a terrible idea...!

[Time to try and book it up the stairs to get to some kind of level floor!]

[It had the shape akin to a ghoul, snarling and spitting inky ichor at Moriarty, half-crawling half-loping after the man, yellowish eyes glowing in its shadowy form]

[Still running, though he does shoot behind himself at it as he hopes that he can reach either the top of this area or another floor soon enough.]

As the thing catches the attack right in it's mouth, it tumbles down the stairs, but another ghoulish figure crawls down the walls, ripping one of the trees out to throw at Moriarty]
