A Halloween Gathering
Who: Urtz and you!
What: Various things involving Urtz's return and desire to get back to business.
Where: Around the school.
When: Throughout October.
Warnings: None to speak of.
A: Locked to Jail
[It took several months to get her house in proper order after the Annabelle incident, but finally Urtz was able to get her affairs squared away. House Cromwell meant a great deal to her, both as a physical place and as symbol, but she could not allow herself to remain there forever. Not when there was still the matter of Nightfall hovering over everyone's heads. People had become more aware of magic in the time and the school itself had more than a few problems of its own given the latest incident. With things back to normal (or as close to normal as they can be) back home, she'd never forgive herself if she left the matters with Daybreak unfinished.
Despite this, what was most surprising about the whole affair was that the school seemed largely the same despite how long she'd been gone. Oh sure, there were some surprises and key differences, but her return felt largely like putting on an old dress. Honestly, she missed this. As she walked down the hallway to her old room, which was still under her name after her return, she couldn't help but awe at the fact that it had not yet been filled. Though as she slide her key into the door to unlock it, the reason why just so happened to be staring her right in the face.]
B: Halloween Dance
UN: miss-chievous
Hello, everyone. It's been a while, hasn't it? For those of you who are new or who simply do not remember me, my name is Urtz Cromwell. I'm a professor here at Daybreak Academy, head of House Cromwell, and sister of Ekkehardt Gehring. The two classes I teach are Magic 101 and Practical Uses for Magic in the Modern Day; the same classes I was teaching before the...incident.
For those unaware, I had to leave rather suddenly in order to deal with some personal affairs back home. But those problems have been sorted out, so I return once more to grace you all with my presence. And just in time, too. It seems things were quite eventful while I was away. So to help everyone relax, I'd like to gauge interest in a costume party and Halloween dance. This is my absolute favorite time of year and a school like this simply must do something for the occasion.
If you're interested, do let me know. And if you'd like to speak with me about helping set up this event, or for any other questions, comments, or concerns, do attend my office hours. I'm quite a bit friendlier than I look.
C:
[Even if enough students haven't yet agreed to this little dance she wants to put on, Urtz is still very much in the Halloween spirit. Currently she's walking around the halls wearing a black and orange dress, not unlike something a traditional witch would wear, with a matching striped hat. Throughout the better part of the day she can be found setting up decorations in the hallways, in her classroom and office, and even on the outside of the school. However, she can also be found out in Soliel with big bags of candy, getting ready for the big day, or lurking around the campus to get a good scare out of passersby. She isn't expecting much, given most of the students and staff are pretty used to these things and it's not like she's the king of fear or something. But it's a fun way to pass the time and good sports get candy, so it's a win-win.]

[Office hours! Feel free to come see Urtz about the dance, classes, or what kept her busy for so long. Or anything else!]

And I'd offer to help you plan the Halloween festivities, but alas, I am still banned from such things until next year. Even the more innocuous things, unfortunately.

And as for this ban. You don't happen to have a physical copy of it, do you? I'm sure I could find a loophole somewhere. Or perhaps have it waived?

It's almost as though they don't trust a daemon to keep their word! Perish the thought!

But I will certainly bring the document by the next chance I get. A fresh set of eyes would be very welcome at trying to crack it open as a matter of principle. I appreciate it.
How have you been? Does your brother know you're back yet? ...Silly question, I suppose.

As for how I am...well. A not insignificant number of my staff put in their letters of resignation after being freed from those paintings. Can't say I blame them, but the vast majority decided to stay. We've scheduled some hirings to replace those that quit and are giving compensation and raises to those who stayed. Not to mention offering therapy to those who need it, my parents included.
Suffice to say the matter has been dealt with, but the shadow of Annabelle still looms over House Cromwell. Nevertheless, I know how to keep a stiff upper lip. After all, my brother told me you all had quite a bit of trouble yourselves. He informed me of as much while I was arranging plans for my return.
no subject
And yes, we've had our share of troubles here too. But, given the nature of our objective, it's to be expected. It doesn't override the troubles your sister has caused, nor the fallout, however. Trouble and difficulty is something we all share in together, and we will carry each other whenever we can. ...So there is no need to bury your own troubles, if we can help you cope with them somehow.
...Just as we will continue to count on you going forward too.
...I cannot help but shake a feeling that there's more trouble than just a jilted Herald waiting in the wings.
no subject
...though, if I'm being honest, it feels a bit strange. Aside from some exceptions, I've never really been keen on trusting others. But things change, I suppose. You know that better than anyone, I'd say.
no subject
But accepting, coping, and rolling with change makes life easier.
[There's a brief pause between the second and third message.]
Even if it is difficult leaving some things behind. Some things more than others.

Though for the weights you can't discard, it is nice to have help lifting them.
