[The egg-raising project is over, and most of the kids have either turned in the monsters they hatched to the Tamer organizations that lent them out or just kept them. Most of them also got... well, more impressive monsters. Kokoro, meanwhile, is still sitting in the classroom with. Well. Whatever this is oozing around on the table.]

I know people were talking to me about pets, but... what would I even feed you?

[That aside, finals are underway, and that means studying. Kokoro's been in here more often than not, and you can find her poring through books in the morning... or at night, having fallen asleep at one of the desks. Probably wake her up.]

I see... Often found in overgrown ruins. So it would have to eat something that grows wild, right? Unless it just eats decomposing buildings, but I doubt they would give us something like that.

[The blob, for its part, happily burbles. At least it seems to have digested everything... okay, most everything. It spits out the apple seeds onto the table.]

Ew. ...Maybe it eats moss?

Ohhhh, maybe it is like one of those things that eats garbage and stuff so plants can grow! ...Like mushrooms do, or whatever.

[Look, she's only smart some of the time.]

That makes sense!

[She reads on, nodding along.]

Amid the decay of its natural home, it will seek dark and enclosed spaces if it feels unsafe. So I suppose I'll need to create some sort of enclosure... I don't think a small pet cage will have enough room, though.

If only there was some caves nearby it could live in...

Or a basement?

People recreate the desert for lizards in terrariums, or lakes for fish in tanks, do they not? So surely such a thing must be possible.

[The creature attempts to ooze off the side of the desk. Kokoro drops her papers and pulls it back onto it.]

That is unsafe.

Aw, it should be fine. It is mostly gooey after all. [Do slimes even feel pain at all...?]

...But you're probably right, if we can't find something like that it can't be that hard to make one. How big should it be though...? Where should it be?

[The dorms aren't...that big. Definitely not enough to fit in large pet enclosures.]

Well, perhaps not something that big, it isn't a cat... I wonder how big they need? Or how big will fit in the room?

Hmmm...

I guess it doesn't move around that much, so it doesn't need lots of space.

[stavros]

I know with things that climb, you can build up. Like mice. But if it doesn't climb, you must build sideways...

[Thinking...] Does it climb?

[As she says this, another little critter trotted into the room, and sat down near the desk. Just to stare at the slime and sniff at it.]

[stavros]

[An air bubble rises up and pops on the slime, which doesn't seem to hurt it. It oozes cautiously away from the Eevee and makes a confused noise.]

Oh, a... fox? Though certainly better-behaved than a regular fox. Is that one yours?

[hattersgonnahat]

[The noise startled the Eevee a bit. It lifted its ears and head up to check out where the slime was going but it couldn't quite see it anymore.]

Yup!! Is what my egg hatched to. He's cute right?

[The Eevee looses some interest in the slime and makes a little yelp, while coming over to Puella. Most likely to demand pets and lap.]

...At least I think he's cute.

[stavros]

[The slime pauses and squishes back over to the centre of the desk.]

He certainly is, and much less chaotic than regular foxes. I wonder what sort of fox hatches from an egg?

I don't know! I didn't think they could either. [Isn't that supposed to only be like a bird or reptile thing??]

[She wonders, and watches the slime again.] Did he come from a normal egg too?

[stavros]

It sort of looked like a rock, but it was warm... [She carefully pets it.] Magical eggs certainly are strange to get used to.
