[ there are few enough things that could convince her to voluntarily spend time with the student body, but the smell of warm, fresh chocolate is among them. besides, she had made an agreement that she would try to attend at least one social function per month, so she doesn't seem too much of an antisocial homebody.
so here she is.
alisaie has no real talent or experience with creating food (mostly she is just very good at eating it), but pouring pre-made chocolate on and into things isn't particularly difficult. nevertheless her station is a little bit.. messy, with chocolate dripped all over the surface, all over her finders, and even a little on her face, because she's definitely been eating it while she works.
for now, she's dipping strawberries into a warm chocolate bath and setting them carefully on waxed paper to dry, though there are several molds nearby as well that she'll be getting to soon enough. she's so focused on her work that she's entirely blocking out the world around her, unaware of the fact that she's probably expected to be working with a partner.. ]
ii; shouln't shopping be easy?
[ gods, if only alphinaud were here to help her..
he's always been better at this sort of thing, knowing what looks good, and what colors go well together. alisaie isn't necessarily terrible at fashion, but her wardrobe is generally quite muted if she puts it together on her own, choosing simple skirts and long sleeved sweaters before anything more trendy or fashionable.
so here, having to choose something to wear for an important social event like, you know, a valentine's dance on campus, she's out of her depth.
there's so much to choose from!! simple soft cottons and smooth silks, tulle, satin.. there are so many colors and styles, short hems and long, sleeveless or backless or halter top, full skirt or asymmetrical, so many waistlines and necklines and cuts and shapes.. maybe she should just wear a suit instead, that sounds much simpler.
on this chilly february afternoon alisaie stands on the sidewalk in town before one of the many little boutiques off campus, clutching her arms to her chest and staring into the window display. these dresses are all beautiful, but where does she begin? she's quite sure that she'll look like a potato the moment she tries any of them on, and when she goes to move into the shop she pauses with her hand on the door for a long enough time to be blocking the way both in and out, quite sure that it's all but written in skylights that she has no idea what she's doing, and no business here.
so imagine her utter humiliation when the door comes flying open from the inside, smacking her right on the nose and sending her reeling with a sharp cry, both hands clasped to her face. ]
iii; campus
[ for most all of the month, alisaie can be easily found around campus. though she keeps to herself, it is very easy to find her in the library studying many large, heavy tomes, in the cafeteria at meals or snacking on sweets between classes, and of course in collegiate level classes. if you would like me to write up a specific prompt for you in any of these places, or anywhere else around campus, feel free to let me know and i'll whip something up in a jiff! ♥ ]

And the closer someone got, the more obvious it became that these books had a theme. Books about runes, relics, transformations, outland monsters...
Someone was clearly looking for something, and was much too engrossed to notice anyone coming up to him... ]

so when she seats herself at the table across from him with her own stack of books, and espies the title written on the spine of one he has open, she can't help but speak up. even if she would much rather keep to herself. ]
That text is out of date. They must have forgotten to remove it from the shelves.
[ thanks hermione ]

Oh. Yeah, this was... definitely outdated. Whoops. ]
... Yeah. Probably. [ He was still kind of surprised, setting the book aside. Then, half-heartedly: ] Thanks, I guess...

Mmhm.
[ she says, crisply. he doesn't seem particularly keen on conversing with her, which is fine by her, she's bad at people. cracking open her own time, alisaie smooths her hands over the leaves, and flips her large notebook to a fresh page. ]
I will take it to them when I leave.

But he also wasn't going to make any headway if he didn't ask for help. He knew that. He'd always known that. He just... never did it. ]
... Are runes your specialty? [ He said suddenly, not looking up from his book. ]

[ she's still so young that she does not consider herself an expert, no matter how advanced her studies might be, but if there's anything she knows, it's certainly runes. ]
Why? Do you have a question?
