MARCH FACULTY IN-SERVICE

MARCH FACULTY IN-SERVICE
Log Comm | Network Comm | OOC Comm | Navigation
For March, the Faculty In-Service is held in Monet 501. With winter slowly yielding to spring, many of the assorted pastries have fruit filling this time, although many are still warmed to help ward off the biting chill of winter’s final grasp.
The major order of the day is the Daemon attack, and the planned counterattack. Faculty will be leading their students into battle as they destroy the base from which the attackers originated, and the discussion is more somber than usual as Faculty review protocols for student protection, undue risk, and potential maiming or death. While the mission has been fully vetted and the Seers give it high probability of success, the fact remains that nothing is certain and any student in a Faculty member’s charge might lose their life, no matter what their best efforts.
Beyond that, the approach of finals and spring break is a welcome respite from more dour conversations. With the quarter coming to a close, it has been announced that all interested students will be given a trip to Marseille in Provence. While it’s still a bit cold for the fabled beaches, it will be a fine opportunity to sample the culture and wine (also known as culture) that the region has to offer.
Reviewing the list, there are a number of other missions available as well. March is looking to be a busy month, but the coming break will be that much sweeter with the hard work beforehand.

Instead he's laser focused on the mission to Germany, a particularly sour expression on his face]
Seriously, I haven't even been gone that long. Who did those fools think they were? No manners these days whatsoever...
no subject
[like maybe he's from a different pocket of Outlands than you, but seriously does that happen]
no subject
[then again, Val is a bit of an outlier]
But that doesn't excuse the people digging around in my forest like they own the place!
I expect that attitude from daemons and monsters. Humans should know better!

Nah. I was actually thinking of going through their wallets, finding out where they live, and stealing some of their stuff during the break. Give them a taste of their own medicine.
I'd be willing to split the haul if you're up for it.

[notice that he hasn't actually said no]

Good point! Maybe I'll pick up some dirt while I'm back in the forest and sprinkle it around where they lived. Make it look like a curse or something.
[he lifts his hands and wiggles his fingers, affecting a voice that's playfully spooky.]
You stepped into the deeeep, daaaark forest and now you must pay the priiiiiiiiiice.
no subject
Oh, I love that! You're already halfway there, with all of them being dead! Maybe you could - where are their bodies, did the other humans get those yet?
no subject
[there's a twinkle in his eye]
What did you have in mind?
no subject
Trees growing out of the bodies.
no subject
Now THAT is going to make an impression! Got anything to make it happen? I'm not exactly a tree-growing guy.
no subject
[Hrm, it's a good idea though...]
What if you just found a sapling and kinda... [He makes a few gestures that, essentially, boil down to "stuff it in there".]
no subject
[He whips out his phone and starts up a search.]
Ugh. I don't want them to flower, I want them to look creepy!
[And he's not even going to be able to get some of these on the plane!]
no subject
[hold on let him also google this]
Gonna be obvious it didn't grow from their heart or something if it's dead.
no subject
[It'd be fine if he was just getting one, but with all the corpses that are supposed to be taking the place up? He's not made of money!]
no subject
[Surely there's some there, it's a forest]
no subject
[Ky pushes the files forward]

[In deference to the fact that she's on duty, she dumped all the alcohol out of it a few days ago. In deference to the fact that she's a disaster, she refilled it with some terrifyingly caffeinated sugary energy drink and topped it off with some coffee from the staff rooms once it was halfway full.]
[The resulting flavor combination is unspeakable.]
So, anyone want in on the betting pool I'm starting for spring break? I got two to one odds on "minor disaster", three to one on "major disaster", and twenty to one on "totally normal relaxing trip with no unexpected problems".
