Sometimes, after tests are done and mysteries uncovered, the teachers need to relax.

Which is why there is karaoke! The faculty of Daybreak Academy have converged, through random inspiration and not a terrible lot of planning, on one unsuspecting bar in Soleil on a Friday evening. A few drinks (or more!) are to be had; however, there is also a stage, with a microphone and a big screen -- which shows a music video for whatever song is on -- and the lyrics. A friendly little green ball bounces over them.

It is time to sing your heart out.

It is time... for karaoke.

[he sits up straight, as though he's had a sudden revelation]

Come to think of it, no.... I thought I did once? But it was just some damn ice elemental. They're garbage at conversation.

[He's completely serious.]

But a moving glass? That's been done, I think. Space mimics.

No, no, you don't get it. You take, like, the broken arm or the pinky or something--'cause they were people--and you put it in the glass. And then that wiggles around and brings the glass with it.

[The cube is forgotten. Somehow it's become an ice snail?]

I've already told you, I've been off blood for four hundred years... I don't want any body parts in my glass.

[Contamination is gross.]

...But how would it even wiggle if frozen?

Blood? There wasn't any--oh. OH! Right! You weren't there.

You know that mission back at my forest? Some lady froze a bunch of people solid. Very solid. And very... froze. Then they started moving and chasing and generally being annoying.

[The vampire blinks.]

Oh. OH. Okay, that makes sense now!

[...Sorta.]

...That sounds annoying. Also ghastly. But appropriately horrifying for some kind of monster. ...Lady.

They all kept coming after me for some reason. Whoever it was really, really wanted my forest. Why else would they come after me? Not like it's her fault or anything.

Coming after you? That's weird.

[His speech lilts a little on that statement, but he definitely looks like he's trying to think through a booze haze.]

"Her" fault? But didn't you just say a lady turned them into popsicles? So wouldn't that be her fault if they attacked you? I mean, she made 'em, right?

Yes. But. There are certain ladies. It's this one's fault, but not that one. There can be more than one.

...It's worse than we thought. They're multiplying now?

[He pales and puts his forehead in his hand. He's slipped into Old German without even realizing it.]

Just dealing with one was enough. I don't want the other. You take the other.

[He hesitates for a moment.]

'Sides... I... nah. Never mind. ...I don't even like popsicles all that much.
