Where: A karaoke bar in Soleil.

Sometimes, after tests are done and mysteries uncovered, the teachers need to relax.

Which is why there is karaoke! The faculty of Daybreak Academy have converged, through random inspiration and not a terrible lot of planning, on one unsuspecting bar in Soleil on a Friday evening. A few drinks (or more!) are to be had; however, there is also a stage, with a microphone and a big screen -- which shows a music video for whatever song is on -- and the lyrics. A friendly little green ball bounces over them.

It is time to sing your heart out.

It is time... for karaoke.

"...I know we don't have height requirements, but you really do seem... eh, I suppose that doesn't matter. ...But you do look familiar somehow."

He shrugged, settling into his seat, sinking into the cushion.

"...You're not just a talking hat, right?"

She pats down on the hat. Should she...should she say something? Does he not see her? This is what drunk people were like?

"Yeah sure, we can go with that."

This is fine. Probably.

No, of course, this is simply what a drunk Valvatorez was like. She'll learn the difference one day.

"Strange... you smell... like a human. Got that human blood smell. ...You weren't a human turned into a hat, were you?"

Puella pressed on the hat more. Crap she's really going to get caught now! Already she was trying to think of an excuse to use, but...Valvatorez evidently came up with one instead. So she stayed there, blinking in confusion.

"....Y-yes..?"

This is just going to be harder to explain once he was sober.

"Oh. Well. That's unfortunate. If I wasn't off the clock and loaded... I'd probably start work on trying to figure out a countercurse for you if you needed it. ...Now though, I suppose that might only make things worse."

...Yep. It's only going to get harder and harder to explain, really.

Very.

"Oh, I... I don't mind being a hat or anything!"

Just keep playing along. And drink more of whatever that excuse of a drink was before he catches on.
