Where: A karaoke bar in Soleil.

Sometimes, after tests are done and mysteries uncovered, the teachers need to relax.

Which is why there is karaoke! The faculty of Daybreak Academy have converged, through random inspiration and not a terrible lot of planning, on one unsuspecting bar in Soleil on a Friday evening. A few drinks (or more!) are to be had; however, there is also a stage, with a microphone and a big screen -- which shows a music video for whatever song is on -- and the lyrics. A friendly little green ball bounces over them.

It is time to sing your heart out.

It is time... for karaoke.

[His accent is just getting thicker and thicker as the night goes. He glances around them.]

[he makes a motion as though twisting something.]

[The house he no longer lives in that is.]

Wait... Yeah. Yeah, you have a house. You got a kid. Too used to people living on campus.

Yes, yes! Ah, mi niñita! You could meet her! She is the greatest kid in the whole wide world! Una linda angelita cielita, mi amigo. The sweetest smile and these big brown eyes... oh, she melts the heart.

[oh no. He should never have brought up the child.]

I'm, uh, sure she does. I'm not great with kids though.

[You've done it now. You did this to yourself, Avery. Now suffer.]

Ah, everybody says that! You'd be fine. Besides, I wouldn't leave you two alone.

[that last bit is key, Héctor. He's already shoved Puella into places she doesn't belong twice.]

[The girl's already out there inflicted on the world, stealing tomato juice]

I guess? Never thought someone would consider me the guy you'd want your family to meet.

[He pauses to actually think about that. Really think.]

Okay, so, maybe you have a few unsavory traits that don't make you the most ideal for families to be meeting you. That's okay! But I still want everyone to meet her, you know? And I want her to see all the cool things in the world, what her Papá's been up to... you could tell her about your pranks! She'd probably take notes.

[He cracks a smile]

Heh... Putting that girl in the lost and found WAS pretty funny. And everyone should learn how to giftwrap someone's work space.

Sí! Exactly! These are things my little girl should know! [You sure about that Héctor?]

Good point. All right! I'll be your kid's tutor! Free of charge, even.

AHA! SEE! I know everyone's thinking it! They're like, 'Héctor, why are you hanging out with that guy?' But it pays off, you see! It pays off.

[It's at this point he descends into laughter upon the bar. It's a good minute of that until he settles, slumped on the bar and smiling still. He sighs.]

But really, please, do come visit. The town or even just the country. It's a beautiful place.
