Wastin' Away Again~
Who: Teachers! TA's! RA's! Other graduate students! Other students who are crashing (or god help them, working there??)
When: March 8, 2019, in the evening.
Where: A karaoke bar in Soleil.
Warnings: Alcohol
Sometimes, after tests are done and mysteries uncovered, the teachers need to relax.
Which is why there is karaoke! The faculty of Daybreak Academy have converged, through random inspiration and not a terrible lot of planning, on one unsuspecting bar in Soleil on a Friday evening. A few drinks (or more!) are to be had; however, there is also a stage, with a microphone and a big screen -- which shows a music video for whatever song is on -- and the lyrics. A friendly little green ball bounces over them.
It is time to sing your heart out.
It is time... for karaoke.

[In lieu of using her currently somewhat strained vocal cords, she points to a cocktail listed on the menu as a "sonic screwdriver", and immediately picks up the song list for the karaoke machine and begins leafing through it, intent on finding something suitably embarrassing for him.]
[After all, just because he's forgiven doesn't mean she's going to waste a perfectly good opportunity.]

Besides - he's interested to see what she'll pick. He's a little less guarded around Jailbreak than he is with many other people; his mentor likes her, and when it comes to judging people Aloisia is even sharper than him. So he allows a little more flexibility, in that regard, even with something so simple as picking songs. ]

[That's probably why she's more merciful than she could be about the song she picks for him. Although, maybe she just couldn't resist giving this one to the school's medical staff.]
[As it is, when he gets back to the table, he'll find the songbook lying open to a specific page, with Jail grinning and tapping her finger on the tune she's picked for him.]
[Hopefully, he finds it amusing, at least.]

Laughs, a little. He's easier with laughter than he used to be. He wonders at it, sometimes. ]
Very well. I accept.
[ The music starts and, contrary to his very dignified appearance, he launches into the song with enthusiasm. It's not quite the rollicking shout that would fit the song's tone, but he has a good, clear voice, and he's using it to his advantage.
And he does seem to be enjoying himself. Enough that by the time he finishes, he's got a grin on his face that wasn't there before. He puts down the microphone on the table before her. ]
There.
Does that satisfy you?

Am I ever satisfied?
[It's part joke, part truth- she's greedy by nature, always wanting more, and has no desire to apologize for it. But her tone is friendly, teasing- she's willing to give him his due, it was a pretty good performance.]
Shame you couldn't get the doc to duet with you. [Hopefully her tendency to nickname everyone doesn't make it too unclear that she means Hieke. Probably not, Ekkehardt's a bright guy.]
