Who: Yuya, anyone else
What: Yuya summoned a new familiar, but he's not really familiar with how to unsummon them. Also as open post for those dates.
Where: Around campus
When: 03/14-03/19
Warnings: None expected
[Building Up]
[Yuya returned from the mission against the daemons without a lot of fanfare, Odd-Eyes lumbering at his side. His arm was on the mend and fixed by the morning, so the only thing he really had to cope with in the aftermath was the phoenix.
It didn't follow very far, at first, although Yuya was still faintly aware of its presence. Over the course of the day it gets heavier, until Yuya's sure it's just outside the school grounds and he's having trouble focusing on his classes. Over the next few days, he's distracted and unfocused, frequently squinting and flinching and rubbing his head. Sometimes he stops what he's doing, books or his food slipping out of his hand as pain spikes through his head enough to almost make him black out on his feet.
Odd-Eyes hasn't been present around the dorms, either, and he suspects with the feelings tumbling through his head that he must be keeping the phoenix from getting closer. If just this close is making it so hard, how is he supposed to actually confront it?]
[Territory]
[After a few days, it starts to become intolerably worse. Fed up, Yuya doesn't think twice when he suddenly bolts out of class, or the cafeteria, running across the campus to where the grounds meet the forest--and where both his familiars are. Fighting, both of them crying out loudly as Odd-Eyes bites and shoves at the Phoenix in an attempt to keep it back.]
Stop! Stop it now, both of you!
[It's dangerous for anyone getting too close to the two of them battling, with neither being very attentive to anything but their personal tussle. For something that's happened on and off for a few days, maybe this isn't the first time you've seen this brawl. It's a little concerning, isn't it?]
[Confrontation | 19th]
[This isn't the most ideal way to learn to cope with it, but Yuya's become much better at separating both his familiar's thoughts and his own. And he realizes, he really owes the Phoenix a chance to talk after bringing them into the middle of a terrifying forest to fight and then just leaving.
So after calming and assuring Odd-Eyes, Yuya makes his way up to the Lumiere rooftop when his classes are over with his steps full of determination. That's where the phoenix has perched on the top of the fence, wings pulled in.]

Building Up
It's enough that he doesn't just laugh when he sees Yuya stumble and drop his books in the hall. Okay, he chuckles a little, but then he feels a bit bad about it, so he bends down to help pick some up.]
What's wrong with you?
no subject
[He rubs his face, like that'll ease the pounding any.] Thanks.
no subject
[He hands over the books he's gathered, then snaps his fingers.]
Fight to the death!
no subject
[He threads his fingers through his hair, pulling a little.] I just have to figure out how to send it back, but I also need to learn to deal with it because if I summon another familiar it'll just happen again.
no subject
[But okay, okay, he doesn't waaaaaant to.]
You can't just tell it to leave? [...] And stop summoning more?

Confrontation
Though, with Yuya's behavior the last few days, Toki doesn't want him going up to the roof alone. He's clearly having a hard time integrating the phoenix; and though leaving Odd-Eyes behind and dealing with the phoenix on its own is a good idea in theory, no one knows what will happen. So, Toki's followed Yuya up to the roof just in case. He knows where the closest emergency sigil is and he's prepared to abandon his orichalcum experiment and utilize the new fey powers if necessary to save Yuya from being attacked by the phoenix, if that worse case scenario were to happen; he's not sure if familiars turn on their summoners like that or not.]
Is it okay if I uh, observe? I'll stay by the door and out of the way!
[He already leaning against the roof door and he doesn't plan on leaving even if Yuya says no, really.]
no subject
Even with that in mind, though, he's kind of touched Toki wants to be there. An a little guilty that he's probably worried him.
Yuya offers a soft smile.] Yeah, that's fine. This is my first chance getting to really talk to them...
no subject
[He's trying to keep his voice down and not upset the phoenix. It's beautiful; golden and seeming to radiate its own light a bit. It's kind of mesmerizing, but he's wary and still on edge. Until he sees Yuya's going to be fine, the phoenix is a threat, however minor.]
no subject
Hey. [Yuya stops halfway to it, and the Phoenix lifts its head to stare back at him.] You're probably confused about this, aren't you?
[It crows in response.]

territory;
Today does not seem to be all that usual. She's a little amazed by the sight before her - a dragon and a phoenix? That seems a little unreal, even for this place.
Oh. And there's another person, there.]
Hey! [She edges around the fight, trying to mind the creatures.] Be careful!
no subject
It's okay, they're--[The phoenix lets out a shrill caw, and Yuya flinches and grips his head in his hands.] Ugh, I said to stop it!
no subject
Adelaide shoots him a concerned look, inching closer to him.]
This really doesn't seem okay!
no subject
[Kind of? It's not very convincing.
Especially when Odd-Eyes lashes his head when the phoenix tries to fly up, biting his heavy jaws around its wing. Both the phoenix and Yuya scream.
Okay, nobody is okay.]
no subject
Adelaide doesn't know much about magic, yet, but she knows familiars are a very real thing.]
Maybe you should give them some space!
[Maybe?? That might make it easier for him to handle - some distance from the source of things.]

No. [He puts a firm hand down on Yuya's shoulder.] Let them fight.
[A statement that sounds crazy as hell to basically anyone other than Naoki.]
no subject
Yuya looks at Naoki like he's grown two heads.] I can't do that, they'll hurt each other!
[And him, but given it's all kind of his fault he's more worried about their health.]
no subject
They need to settle this on their own or it will keep happening. [He stops for a second, considering.] I'll step in if it goes too far, okay? Just trust me. I've seen this before.
[C'mon, Yuya, who's the monster expert here? Probably not Naoki, but he's pretty sure he knows what's up.]
no subject
[Naoki's point doesn't quite sink in, because Yuya's worried about just ending it. If they're both his familiars, then why is he so powerless to stop this?]
no subject
You don't have to watch if you don't want to. They're just... working things out. Testing each other.

build-up; also work was like "how about not" last week so I figured I'd just jump in here
Thus, here she is. Nana walks up towards Yuya, arm in her sling -- and she pauses as she spots him, seeing him rub at his head. That makes Nana pause.
She waves, as she gets closer -- and smiles, and it's not that forced, either. It's good to see him out and about. It's just worrying to think of what happened; of that grey patch; of his familiars seeming to lose control.]
Yuya!
\o/
His gaze floats to her wound, and of course it's the first thing he wonders about.] How's your arm?
no subject
[She glances down at where his wrist was so afflicted.] ...How's yours?
no subject
[By using specific anti-anti-daemon serum, because the traditional way didn't help.] If it's a few days you really can't work your arm too much, can you? You want help carrying anything?
no subject
[She slides her backpack off her shoulder, one armed, and extends it. It does, in fact, have a bag of flour inside. Nana is a little sorry for that.
But only a little.]
Did he say what happened? Or... why it did that? I'd never seen that color before, so... I was a little worried.
