GRANDPAW HUNTING SEASON | Hollow Plot

Who: Gongenzaka, his grandfather's hollow and others
What: 'Grandpaw' is stalking people close to Gon to psyche him out- and then just pummeling him (it's fine we'll pummel Grandpaw back)
Where: Around campus
When: March 17th - 21st
Warnings: Serious Violence in the Hollow Fight Prompt; Far more minor (though varied) in the Mingle Prompt

Yuya doesn't think twice about the odd occurrences at first, assuming that they're the result of his own dazed state. Stumbling down the stairs, reaching for something that's moved too far and tipping over, books almost falling on his head... he's so distracted with the dueling senses of two familiars he doesn't realize what's happening around him as any fault but his own.

He's walking slowly from one building to the next for his next class, rubbing the heel of his palm to his eye as he tries to clear his head. This is really the worst.

"Yuuya-!" To say that Gongenzaka has been worrying himself sick, and running ragged, is...

To put it very lightly suffice to say. He runs after the other to try and catch him before the next class. "Hah- Hah, Yuuya..!"

He really hopes that's not a dangerous class. "Wait..!"

Yuya stops, looking over his shoulder. When he sees who's calling him, he offers Gongenzaka a smile and a wave--although it's still a little weary.

"Hey, Gongenzaka. Want to walk to class with me?"

[betheman]

"Auh-! C-certainly! Though Yuuya, I, the man Gongenzaka wanted to ask...auh..." He stammers a fair bit, not even bothering to think on if they even share this class. "Have... ...Are you faring well?"

[hippocarnival]

"Oh... you noticed?" Of course he noticed. Yuya puts a hand briefly to his head before waving his hand dismissively. "I'm fine! It's just since summoning that other familiar, having both of them in my head is... a lot."

He stares blearily in the distance, but he holds his smile with determination. "I just need time to get used to it, like when I first summoned Odd-Eyes. It's okay!"

[betheman]

"Auh... ...Your other familiar?" There was a seco- Oh yes, there was a second. Familiar. Second familiar-

"Auh. Well...that isn't quite what I meant," he mutters with a cough. "Has anything else...."

How does he say this. Gongenzaka waves a hand somewhat. "...Has anything...strange? Happened recently..?"

"Strange...?" Yes, actually, related to demons, and it makes Yuya's chest get tight. Had Gongenzaka noticed something...?

He suddenly feels very alert of his nervousness. "Like what kind of strange things?"

[betheman]

"Just...anything, truthfully. I, the man Gongenzaka, understand that sometimes things are truly just as they seem, but..."

He swallows, rubbing the back of his neck as he looks about distractedly. "It simply... ...Something does not seem right. Not at all..."

[hippocarnival]

Does he have to tell him, too? Yuya looks down, covering his mouth as his face scrunches up with worry.

"Am I acting suspicious?" He must be, or otherwise maybe Gongenzaka heard something. He wasn't on that mission, but... "It's--not something I can tell you here. I don't really know, myself..."

They are talking about totally different things.

[betheman]

"Hauh??? There is something you need to say?" he repeats, before rapidly shaking his head. "MHN- no, no, that isn't..."

He looks around again. "No, something else...I, the man Gongenzaka, cannot tell what..or who, it simply... ...it is not merely around you, I assure- Auh, rather it is not focused, around you..."

This is actually a bit concerning, Gon acting like this.

Oh... it's something else? Yuya looks up, openly confused.

"What do you mean? What's not focused around me?"

[betheman]

He's nervous. Very nervous. And- "I... I don't know, I-"

With a jolt, he stiffens- and tackles his friend to the ground before something flies into their heads.

"Mnh! Where-!"

Where'd it come from? Who knows. They won't find the source. But something is not right.

Yuya, being about half Gon's size, is easily knocked to the floor with a scream. What's happening, why is the world turning upside down.

"H-hey!" He chokes, flailing.

[betheman]

"Mnh!" Fortunately, it's only for an instant. An instant after which Gongenzaka hurriedly sits up in panic, face red. "AUH! Yuuya- did I injure you?!"

Well, to be fair it was that or be beaned in the skull but. Ow.

Beaned with what? Yuya looks around frantically, trying to see just what almost hurt him and how much of a concern it really was. The way Gon panicked, it's like he was about to die or something.

"Ow..." He sits up, rubbing his back.

[betheman]

Looks like...a locker???? Yikes. No one in the hall seems to be able to figure out where it came from either. And whatever threw it probably knew the Tackle would happen.

"Mnghh...perhaps, I, the man Gongenzaka, should get the school nurse..."

[hippocarnival]

Yuya's whole life is belatedly flashing before his eyes.

"W-whoa, wait a minute! Forget the school nurse!" Yuya scrambles up to his feet, looking back and forth wildly. "Where did that even come from?!"

[betheman]

"MNH!? But I could have injured you!!" he protests, looking to the locker in question. "...Going to the nurse will not change that a locker was thrown somehow, for that matter!"

...Wow he is distracted isn't he.

[hippocarnival]

"I'm fine" He moves to grab Gongenzaka's arm, squeezing a little in an attempt to force his attention. "I'm really fine, you didn't hurt me. I'm more worried about that locker."

[betheman]

"Mnh-" Attention has been forced. But that said- "...There have been accidents all day, yet it is only the locker which finally worries you?"

He's just really certain most of this wasn't Yuuya being clumsy. At all.

Maybe Yuuya will agree now.

[hippocarnival]

"The locker wasn't my fault." Or at least, explicitly wasn't. The smaller accidents are less definite when he has such a hard time focusing. Being his own fault, rather than some unseen entity coming after him, was just the easiest explanation.

"It didn't hit anyone else, did it?"

[betheman]

"N- I, the man Gongenzaka, highly doubt most of today has been your fault..!!" Gongenzaka protests.

"And no, no one else was hit..."

[hippocarnival]

Yuya stares at the locker a moment longer, before turning to start walking the opposite direction of it. "So let's find out where it came from.'

[betheman]

"Auh... but..." Oh. Well.

Gongenzaka sighs, and in the end relents. Off they go on an endless detective hunt, until they're told off for skipping class he supposes.
