Who: Hieke & You!
What: The traditional infirmary catchall, plus some investigation and misfortune.
When: April
Where: The infirmary, with special shoutouts to the library and forge.
Warnings: Possibly some mention of violence & injury, but nothing too bad.
the infirmary;
[Early in April, the infirmary goes through some decoration changes. The hearts and flowers from Valentine’s Day are long since gone, but that doesn’t mean the infirmary doesn’t need some sprucing up. It seems that, despite all the work Hieke does, he still has too much free time.
There are fresh flowers stored in vases around the infirmary, brightening up the place. Enchanted to be completely allergenic, they shouldn’t cause anyone looking for a cure to their season-change sniffles any more problems.
As usual, Hieke can be found in the infirmary at the strangest hours, except this month he seems...even more stressed than usual?]
the library;
[It’s rare to see Hieke in the library, but that’s where he finds himself often early on in April. He’s on a mission, you see - after the complete failure that was catching his younger double with Jailbreak, he’s trying to figure out what on earth humans do to deal with daemons.
He can be found with a stack of books, all on daemon summoning, daemon banishment, and deals, and with each book he goes through he looks more and more frustrated. Someone needs to help him before he starts setting things on fire.
(Okay, the fire is unlikely, but he feels it.)]
the forge;
[Alternatively, you can find Hieke at the forge. He’s not exactly forging a weapon - but he’s still there rummaging around the tools and rifling through the supplies available. He seems intensely focused on whatever it is he’s planning, but also incredibly shifty. Every so often he pauses to look around, as if checking if anyone is seeing what he’s doing.
Eventually he stops worrying if people are watching him, and starts work on...a bracelet? A bracer? It’s kind of hard to tell, but Hieke doesn’t seem pleased with the progress.]
Ugh. This would be easier if Driss were here.
[Whine, bitch, moan.]
wildcard;
[You can run into Hieke anywhere! Classes, anywhere his sigils are, et cetera. Or, you can run into the younger double of Hieke brought about by the kidplot! If you want something special to work with, just hit me up at
daintily or in the game discord!]>

The Summer Home
And anyone who thinks he's being overdramatic can take it up with whatever hideous force of karma keeps sending him off to the infirmary.]
Shouldn't I have earned something free by now?
no subject
Like what?
[He looks him over, raising an eyebrow.]
We might get you your own bed, though.
no subject
[He sighs]
A bed's a good start. Even if you are mocking me.
no subject
[Which is a lie.]
I'm just not sure how you keep managing to end up here. Nobody else comes to see me so often.
no subject
[He just thinks things through about as well as his younger self does]
no subject
[That doesn't make any sense.]

Library
[Michael lifts one of the books gingerly to peer at the cover. It's not like it can do anything to him, but he's very familiar with being on the opposite side of the whole daemon-summoning thing. He's gotten used to walking around unimpeded; he's not a fan of the idea of being called and bound willy-nilly anymore.]
no subject
[Hieke says from where his face is currently resting in his hands. He's been doing so much reading. So much.]
Most of it is useless.

the forge;
Hieke~! You know you can hire the guys from town to make things for you really quick, right~!? You don't have to do it all yourself! What are you making!? What's a driss!?
[His project can wait. Hieke's is more interesting right now.]
no subject
This is a personal project.
[As in one he's trying to keep as secret as possible. Also why he conveniently skips over the question of what he's making.]
And Driss is a person.
no subject
So~, a person!? Is he your friend; a daemon like you!?
[It's good that Hieke has friends who may not be mushrooms.]
no subject
Ah, no, he's not a daemon.
[Are they friends? They're not not-friends...
Hmm.]
He's a dwarf.
no subject
A dwarf~! Tell me about him! He sounds interesting~! Does he mine things and have a beard!?
no subject
He doesn't have a beard. Or mine things, really.
[Hmmm.]
He does do some metalwork, though.

The Forge
[...Also, she's just in the forge relatively often because she's working on her various projects. But mostly she's drawn to dubious stuff.]
Didn't take you for the jewelry-making type, doc. Got somebody special in mind?
[Yeah, she's just going to immediately lean over from her own workbench and start teasing him, that's clearly the best way to begin a conversation.]
no subject
Uh- no, never. I wouldn't want to give someone a shitty gift.
[This is why whenever he makes people things, it's food. Food is the one thing he can't fuck up.]
no subject
I dunno. Spite?
[She's not judging.]
[She does, however, actually literally teach this stuff, so she might actually be able to help, if he's willing to put up with her.]
Want some tips?
no subject
Spite and gifts don't really go hand in hand...
[And he's so innocent.]
But, yeah. It's not like I could make this any worse.
[Please help him.]
no subject
[She snickers slightly.] And very different science fairs. [If it's not actually on fire, it can definitely still get worse. That's just part of the fun, in engineering.]
[She looks over the attempt with a practiced eye, seeing the little ways it's gone wrong.]
What were you aiming for, when you started this- more of a bangle or a full-sized bracer? You're gonna want slightly different techniques, depending. Might also be able to use different metals, if you weren't sticking to one in particular.
no subject
[What the fuck is a science fair?]
Uh - probably more of a bangle? Something that won't look ridiculous when I'm wearing it.
