WHO: Toki, Adelaide, Valvatorez, Orihime, Jolyne, Jail + open
WHERE: various locations
WHEN: May
WHAT: Vampires! Apologies! Awkwardness! Mentoring! Dogs? Tea! Exploration!
WARNINGS: self-harm and gore mentions likely, potential RNG seizure visions, FEELS
CLOSED PROMPTS:
a; {Adelaide} - early May, edge of the woods on campus
[Toki hadn't been exactly avoiding Adelaide after the incident, but it seems that way. He had so many things going on the following weeks; worrying over Maverick's contract, confronting Wist about Kano's state of existence, continuing dreams and visions that were taking their toll on his mental state. Adelaide, and confronting what happened between them, had somehow been pushed to the back of it all. Now, he wonders if it's too late to have the discussion, too late to tell her he doesn't hate her, and never could.
He sent a text to Adelaide only this morning, a time and a place to meet. Toki's not sure if she'll show up at all. He doesn't know how she feels, and he should. He should have talked to her earlier. He sits on a fallen log near the edge of the woods. A quiet place that he doesn't particularly get comfort from, but he thinks Adelaide will. No one around to hear them. He'd chosen later in the evening; it's still light enough to see everything, but he doesn't know how the sunlight affects her; if it hurts to be outside during the day and she just doesn't show it.]
b; {Valvatorez} - early May, Val's office
[He's waited a while to apologize. It's not that he's afraid of Valvatorez per se, because Ekkehardt was probably right. It was all in the past, everything Toki saw. Yet, he's still apprehensive as he approaches the professor's office. He apologies a lot, but he's never been particularly good or dignified at it; usually devolving into tears early on, or not quite understanding why he's apologizing beyond making someone upset somehow. Right now, he does know. He knows what he did was wrong, and an overreaction, but in the moment he did it, it seemed the only option and very logical. Toki knocks on the door softly, or softly for him anyway.]
Professor Valvatorez?
c; {Orihime and/or Jolyne} - whenever in May, Aube 405
[Toki hasn't seen Orihime since the end of February. He hasn't contacted her at all, and she hasn't reached out to him either. Or, if she has, he doesn't know about it. He did go through four new phones in the last two months, and though he's still on the network with an updated number, Orihime could have assumed her unanswered messages were him ignoring her. He's on some kind of reconciliation streak at the moment, not formally or for any reason; things just happened that way. So, today, he's going to talk to her.
The last time he saw her was in the first floor common room in Aube. It was late at night, maybe early in the morning. He'd had a vision about her. One where she died, where she was a rotting corpse and her spirit had been claimed by a snake-man of sorts. A snake-man that, for some reason, Orihime thought represented her brother. Of course, Toki doesn't know what happened with that. He knows she's alive, but that's it really. Sometimes he feels like everything would be less awkward, less confusing, if people would clue him in a bit more on things. He understands why they don't; like Orihime hadn't. He's too easily disturbed and frightened and panicked and he'll just get in the way if he knows.
She probably doesn't want to see him, and that's okay. He's prepared for that outcome. He almost texted her, fingers hovering over her robot network icon, but what would he say? A simple "how are you?" after two months of silence? He couldn't do that, though maybe he should have. He was prepared and calm and everything when he knocked on the door of Aube 101, only to be met by some guy he'd talked to once when the kids were hanging around. Orihime had changed rooms. Now, he's here in front of 405. In this hallway where he'd been several times on his way to visit Adelaide and the fish. He had no idea Orihime was right there.
Toki hesitates before knocking. He wants to make this easy for her if she just doesn't want to speak to him again. Okay. He's ready. He knocks loudly and rapidly on the door, intent on appearing cheerful and happy no matter what happens.]
d; {Jail} - beginning late April, Jail's office
-continuation from here-
[Toki was taking a shower when the text arrived, and he never looked at it until someone else texted him several hours later. The ghost line sends him off on thought tangents regarding if there are any ghost students at Daybreak he doesn't know about, then onto whether or not he's already dead and a ghost himself, and it's another several hours before he remembers to write down the appointment time.
The next day, when he checks his scrawled down reminder, he reads it as 8PM. At 3:30, when he looks the map for where her office is, he sees the actual meeting time. It's almost 4:00 before he shows up to knock on the door.]

give me your choices for service animals that are NOT dogs!
small cute dogs are POSSIBLE or maybe a dalmatian,
BUT i have preference for non-dogs!
f; Cafe de la Lune
[Toki has a table by himself near the front door. His usual cafe companion Kuroko is nowhere in sight. He's also switched from coffee to tea. He examines the contents of the cup every time he take a hesitant sip. He has a notebook and a large old tome spread out on the table in front of him. The cafe is crowded today, and as someone approaches, he slides everything out of the way.]
You can sit here! I'm taking up too much space!
g; The Citadel
[Generally followed by a guard or two, Toki has found ways of escaping them for a few hours at a time. He usually gets different people; no one can stand him two days in a row. That's mostly why they sometimes overlook it when he speeds off before they can catch him. As long as he doesn't leave the school grounds, they haven't seemed to care much.
After having been in the Citadel several times for Cassandra and mission control, Toki's fairly certain he can just walk in there at any time and no one's going to be suspicious. Which is exactly what he's doing. It's a day for exploration and knowledge gathering. The hangar has no interest for him, but he has to bypass it to get to where he wants to be; inspecting Ouroboros and more importantly, Cassandra.]

Anything, anywhere~!

I- saved you? From what, taking your eye out?
[She could have done that without biting him. She could have done that without hurting him!]
no subject
[He pulls back and looks her in the eyes.]
You stopped yourself before you went too far, and I'm okay. I don't know what I can do, but I want to help you! So you don't get to even that point again! You didn't choose to be a vampire! So, it's like in your nature to want human blood, right!? You can't hate yourself for one mistake like that when it was kind of inevitable!
[That's probably not reassuring at all.]
no subject
But she's also feeling incredibly discombobulated.]
...Just because I need to drink blood doesn't mean an attack should be inevitable. If I was better, it wouldn't have gone like that.
[She sighs, shaking her head, but she still doesn't turn to run away.]
I'm just...sorry. That I hurt you.
no subject
[He's not sure what else he can say here. He's bad at this.]
Either way, you can't go back and change what happened! And if you need to hear it, I forgive you. I have one very important quest-
[He stops and stares, visions continuing to be bad timing with Adelaide... Kano sitting in the middle of a glowing summoning circle. One hand is bloody, the other holds a knife. He looks lost and somehow sad. Not like Kano. Hissing of snakes. Black tendrils creeping up to latch onto Kano. He smiles... Kano again. But he's back. Is he going to summon a daemon, had he already done so? There's too many possibilities, and Toki is determined to not just run off and accuse people of daemon summoning this time.]
Uhh... An important question! I have one!
no subject
I...sort of. Kind of? But we haven't talked in a while.
[And then he goes quiet and stares off into the middle distance. Which...
Is concerning.
But it's so different from his usual visions, she almost doesn't recognize it for what it is. Weird.]
...What's your question?
no subject
Uhh, have you... tried Professor Valvatorez!? He'd be really good to talk to! I saw some things, in visions, that he- well, we'll just say that he could maybe help you with controlling it better!? Just a thought! Oh! And my question is... did I taste good!?
no subject
[It's definitely not a bad idea. It's actually kind of a good one.
But then he asks his question, and. Lord. Adelaide doesn't know how to answer that.]
Do you really want to know?!
no subject
Of course I do! If it's not horrible, then you can practice just having a little bit, like an appetizer~!
no subject
...But I guess you didn't taste the worst.
no subject
But back to serious things~! You really should talk to Professor Valvatorez, and again, I forgive you and I don't hate you and everything's good, okay!?
no subject
If you say everything's good, I guess it is. And I'll talk to the Professor. I promise.
no subject
[Toki is so bad at this, and he doesn't know if anything helped at all, but he tried.]
So, we never did get that coffee~!
[It's dark out already, but who needs sleep?]
no subject
Is there even a place in town that's open right now?
[It's not exactly a bustling city.]
no subject
[Can vampires get drunk? A question. He doesn't know what do, so he's just trying to take her mind off things for a minute.]
no subject
[Can she get drunk? She has no idea. She's also not sure that's a smart plan, but...]
Lead the way - whatever you want is fine with me.
[Which is probably remarkably unhelpful, but...Oh well.]
no subject
[He's not actually sure how far Soleil is, but the bus ride always seems short enough. He grabs Adelaide's hand, noticing for the first time how cold it really is, and heads towards the road to town.]
no subject
[She doesn't mind walking, but they do have buses for a reason!!
She doesn't protest him taking her hand, though, content to follow him to wherever it is they're going.]
no subject
[There's no one around on the road to Soleil. He avoided the the bus primarily because he thinks Adelaide might not want to be around a lot of people if she still feels guilty. All those humans with throbbing veins sitting so close to her. It could be bad.]
no subject
[He's not wrong, but being alone with someone is still risky...
Ugh. She's not going to feel good about spending time with anyone for a long, long while.]
But you're not wrong. It's pretty nice.
no subject
[Not far from the Academy, there's a small path that turns off the main road. Toki takes it on impulse. Adelaide probably doesn't care if they ever get to a bar. The path starts off with slate here and there, eventually becoming just dirt; the other slabs of rock having long been overtaken by the earth.]
no subject
[A star-gazing cat...cute.
Adelaide isn't sure they're ever going to make it to their destination, but that's...fine. It truly is. All that matters is the two of them are safe, and she'll do anything she can to make that come true.]
no subject
Come on! It's a great view up here!
no subject
She climbs up the rock, wondering how Toki would have even found a place like this. It's not a bad place, though, and she's glad the weather is getting warmer.
Not that the cold really bothered her, much.]
You come here often?
[She can't picture him as the type to like it. He doesn't seem the sort to be keen about sitting still.]
no subject
[Watching the stars falls more into the "Look! So pretty! It sparkles!" category than sitting still and relaxing. Which he points out, as it's dark enough to see said stars, yet the sky has a deep purple haze on the horizon.]
See!? Isn't it beautiful!?
no subject
Adelaide leans back on the rock, supporting herself with her arms as she looks out at the sky. It really is pretty out here.]
It's really pretty. Almost too pretty, you know? It doesn't seem real.
[How can beauty like this exist when there's such terrible things that happens?
...Meh. That's a little grim. The world is beautiful because things like this can exist to bring smiles to people's faces.]
