Who: Nekane, their class and you.
What: Nekane teaches their class, rests in the facility lounge and raids the library.
Where: Classroom, then the staff room and the library.
When: May 21st
Warnings: None. Will update if it changes.
Classroom
['Teacher of Rituals and Urban Legends' is weird but they'll take it. Nekane has had worst titles and if being a teacher meant they would get their hands on a lot of information then so be it. The only problem was the whole teaching thing. But hey, fake it 'til you make it or whatever.
They're already at their desk by the time class rolls around. Nekane is absorbed in whatever they're writing in a notebook so any questions prior to the actual start of the class go ignored. But once the clock clicks over to the hour, they shut the book and take a final swig of the large cup of coffee on their desk before standing up.
The detective's full name and their 'title' is written on the chalkboard without comment and then Nekane drags a stool to the front of the room and places a beat-up teddy bear on it. There's a red thread that has been stitched into the bear's stomach.
Nekane finally speaks and they sound very tired. And they do not bother with an introduction.]
Who here's heard of One Man Hide-And-Seek?
Lounge
[Once class lets out and Nekane is done answering (or deflecting) the students' questions, they immediately duck into one of the facility lounges. Being hired by Daybreak didn't mean they knew everyone here. Names and faces were only the beginning of what made up someone and the easy part to memorize, even without photographic memory.
And the room has coffee. Bonus.
Nekane is tucked away in a corner of the room with their back against the wall, or as comfortable as they can be without jamming their wings on anything. Their gaze seems to sweep across the room quite frequently but always lands on the door when they see it open, watching whoever walks inside.
There's still some coffee left in the machine but all the sugar packets are gone. Oops.]
Library
[Daybreak's library is well-known for being massive and a place where Nekane had immediately wanted to go once they saw it. And since all of their classes are done, they can spend the rest of their day here. Wonderful.
Unfortunately for others, it means a lot of books are missing. In a library as big as this one it's not enough to really put a dent in it but...that book you wanted to read? Gone. The reference material you need for homework? Poof. Perhaps the person that appears to be hording books like a dragon hordes treasure may know where your things got to.
This is what happens when the school hires someone who loves books and has an obsession with information, after all.]

[Not that reading the actual instructions for these games ever stopped people from being stupid. Nekane would be out of a job if that was indeed the case.]
When you're preparing the doll, you take out all the stuffing, replace it with rice and sew it up with a red thread. The rice's role is to attract a spirit and the read thread's got the role of sealing it in the doll itself.
But there's also something of you that has to go in it too before you stitch the doll up. It ain't blood, so what's left.

...Hair?

Fingernails. Clippings mainly but I've known people who used the whole damn nail. It has to be your own. But feel free to try someone else's if you want a learning experience.
[Nekane actually does not know if it matters. For the handful of cases they've solved that involved this game, nobody's been that dumb.]
