Who: Hieke & You!
When: June
Where: The infirmary & around campus
What: The infirmary is open for business as usual, some people don’t take care of themselves, and life is out to get you.
Warnings: There shouldn’t be any, will mark if they come up.
the infirmary; june
[The flowers from spring are long gone, but the infirmary still has some seasonal decoration up… that are still flowers. Hieke only grows so many plants, okay? Anyone with a keen eye will recognize that these plants are native to the area - or native to anywhere on earth. They’re Outlands flowers, carefully chosen because they’re mostly harmless and have been enchanted to be completely harmless.
Asides from that, the infirmary is as it always is. Busy, and Hieke seems available no matter how odd the hours. If he’s not there, there’s a summoning sigil placed on his desk, free to be used.]
around campus; june 11th-15th
[It sets on slowly. A sniffle in the back of Hieke’s throat, more fatigue than usual. By the time the 11th rolls around, Hieke has given up trying to fight off the cold and has accepted his fate.
He also still shows up for work. Anyone who visits the infirmary or attends his classes will come across him bundled up in even more layers than usual, occasionally shivering as if it’s the middle of winter. It very much seems like he...should have stayed in his room.]
How can I help you?
[He sneezes, and a fine black smoke drifts from his lips and nose. He sniffs, grimacing, as he waves the smoke away.]
a letter; june 20th
[Whoever finds Hieke this day - which isn’t very hard, he’s always in the same place - will find Hieke with a piece of paper. The paper’s obviously been folded a few times, and Hieke doesn’t seem too pleased to have it.
But he can’t stop reading whatever’s written on the page.
He drags a hand through his hair, sighing and mumbling to himself.]
I can’t believe this…
[Uuuuugh.]
wildcard;
[Hieke will be around and available wherever you want him to be! Feel free to summon him to your shenanigans, or hit me up at
daintily or on discord if you want to hash something out!]

infirmary, mid-month
Hi, Hieke~!!
[ His voice, ever loud and cheerful, does no favors for a sinus headache, but whether he thinks Hieke may be a bit harder of hearing underneath all those layers, or that Kano just needs something from him (Kano just needs something from him), today he is relentless, leaning his elbows on Hieke's desk and grinning his sunshine grin. ]
Is that the summer flu? It's really going around, huh?? What bad luck~! I was hoping to borrow you for an hour or so today to supervise something, but I dunno if you're up for it???
no subject
Hieke stares up at him blearily for a moment, weighing the pros and cons. On the one hand, Kano is someone they need to watch out for and he probably needs to be taken seriously. On the other hand, he feels awful and isn't sure he's up for whatever shenanigans Kano's planning.
He sighs, though it comes out as more of a cough, and squints.]
It's not that bad. I can probably look over whatever you're doing.
[Hhhhhh.]
no subject
Okay, great!! All gotta do is sit tight, okay? Stay right here and don't move and I'll come summon you!!!
[ Presumably, following a summoning sigil takes less energy than walking? Kano doesn't know. ]
no subject
You don't have to-
[He still has legs, Kano!]
You can't be that far away, right?
no subject
Not that far away, but if people see you and me together, won't they be suspicious? It's fine, it's fine, be right back~
[ He runs away before Hieke can get another word in—- it'll really only be 5-10 minutes before Hieke will feel the tug of his sigil.
The summoning is coming from within the greenhouse. ]

a letter
A bandaid. Preferably one with a cool design. Like dogs! Maybe if he's lucky, it'll leave behind a cool scar that he can show off.
Ken is told to seek out the school's nurse so he does just that. He hasn't really met him before so he's a little bit wary but hopefully he isn't like the evil doctor in Issue #45 of Featherman Rangers: Lost in Time.
When he eventually does find Doctor Hieke, he...doesn't seem to be looking so good himself. The paper that he's holding seems to be causing him a lot of stress. Ken holds his hand close to his chest, careful not to press his bleeding finger anywhere near his clothes. That would be bad.]
Um. Hieke-san? [He tilts his head to the side, curious.] What''s wrong? You look like you got some kind of bad news. It's nothing too serious, is it?
no subject
Ah, it's...Nothing that bad. [For the most part. If Ken tries to look at the letter, he'll see the writing on it is unlike anything he's ever seen before. The characters are strange - definitely daemonic - but the letter itself is short.] Just a message from home.
[He looks over the boy, trying to assess what he's here for without necessarily scanning the boy's health. It's a necessary step, but some people seem to think that's unnecessary?]
How can I help you?
no subject
Oh. I just needed a bandaid is all.
[He sheepishly holds his injured hand close to his chest.]
But you don't have to take care of it now if you don't want to. I don't want to intrude--
no subject
A bandaid?
[He has those. He has plenty of those. A lot of humans tend to think magical healing is a step too far for minor injuries, which doesn't make sense to Hieke, but it means they've got plenty of options when it comes to bandaids.
He pushes himself to his feet, walking over to the cabinets lining the wall.]
Do you have a preference for design?
[He's completely ignoring the comment on intruding in favor of rifling through the bandaids.]
no subject
A preference? Um, well...
[He has a lot of preferences. Something with dinosaurs, maybe something with the Featherman Rangers on them. But that is awfully childish, isn't it? Adults wear plain bandaids without the designs on them.]
Give me...the plainest thing you've got! If that's alright with you, that is.
[He feels more like an adult by the second.]

Hola, Señor. Sorry, I didn't need anything, I was just coming in to look at these. I forgot about these things.
no subject
They've just bloomed. I figured I should bring them over here while they look their nicest.

15th-ish
Uh...
[ And, just like that, he's frowning hard. ]
Dude... You look terrible.
no subject
It's not liable to infect you unless you have daemonic ancestry.
[See? He's not completely thoughtless! It's a disease that won't impact most of the students he sees, so it's fine that he's not taking care of himself.]
june 20th
[ He looks over from his desk. He's hardly going to pry, but that didn't sound very positive. ]
You sounded worse than you were when you were sick.
no subject
Hieke wants to lay his face on the desk and groan, but he doesn't.]
My brother sent me a letter.
[Which wouldn't be so bad! Hieke's brother is a perfectly respectable daemon!]
He wants me to do a favor for him.
no subject
What does he expect you to do, might I ask?
no subject
So.
This is great.]
He wants to avoid an all out war between factions, but there are...people and plans he needs stopped. If he did it himself...Well. He thinks it'd be that all our war.

6/25
He shuffles into the infirmary, slower than usual because every step hurts.]
Hieke~! Something weird happened~!
no subject
Hieke raises an eyebrow at him.]
What is it?
no subject
[Toki sits on one the beds and carefully slides his shoes off. His feet are red, flaking and blistered in patches, looking not unlike a chemical burn. Some streaks of it go further up to his ankles.]
It's mostly there, but-
[He tugs his shirt off and there's smaller and less intense patches of burns on his abdomen. He holds up his left forearm, that also has one burned streak.]
It's something probably in the woods or nearby because I was out there yesterday doing... things and I wasn't dressed! I had pants! I mean, like- I did, I wasn't naked or anything!
no subject
Was there anything you came in contact with?
[He crouches down to get a closer look, frowning at the patches.]
Anything that you can remember, at least?
