Where the heck am I?!

Who: Ryoga Hibiki, Open
Where: All over the god damn campus
What: Not all those who wander are lost, but he sure is
When: Early July.

A. July 4-7, Lumiere, Faculty Dorms.

[A teenager with a spotted bandana and a bamboo umbrella slung over his shoulders can be seen wandering the halls, stopping anyone who passes by]

Excuse me, is this the way to Aube 303?

B. Cross Fountain, quad

[A tiny black piglet squeaks and snorts wading before leaping right out of the fountain, shaking off the excess water from it's body]

Kwee?!

[The piglet starts running, trying to to somewhere - with hot water preferably, but having bad luck in actually avoiding anyone]

C. Legionnaire's

[This place, Ryoga somehow manages to find with little trouble. The young man can be found do quite a lot of weight training - with the maximum amount of weights on the barbells that he seem to be using as regular old dumbbells, doing bicep curls, or he's seen with a sandbag doing some kicks and punches, seeming to be practicing his aim more than anything else]

Hah...! Ngh!

[Between training, he's willing to talk, but if someone calls to him, he'll get distracted enough to get smacked in the face by the sandbag]

[It's a little more clear now that he has a rather thick Japanese accent]

[She smiles and motions for him to follow her.]

[She leads the way, a bounce in her step. She glances back to Ryoga with a sheepish smile.]

Not long, admittedly, just for about a month now. Just in time for finals... I can at least answer some questions you might have, though!

Okay... so the semester is over?

[Oh he missed finals? A whole semester? Hopefully they won't be mad. spoilers: his parents anticipated this and enrolled him in the fall semester]

How are the teachers here?

The teachers? They're... interesting. And they run the gamut of personalities. A couple I know are strict, others...

I like the hands-on classes! Alchemy and Artifice is fun, and I like Outlands Survival and Close Quarters Combat.

[She scratches at one cheek.]

Anything with a practical element to it is great, I think! As much as I like reading, I don't want to spend all my classes staring at books...

[Oh dear.

That is one very panicked looking piggy. And a very panicked feeling piggy for that matter. While Ryoga is running around all adorable pig-ly-like, Reira will slowly start to follow.

It certainly seems like a smarter than normal pig, so it's probably a Cool Pig, she's determined.]

...Are you looking for something?

[Maybe the pig lost something. This makes sense, to Reira.]

[The piglet's ears perked up at being addressed, starting as his head swivels towards Reira, snout twitching]

Bwee?

[Time to act normal, like a normal pig, nothing weird here! Really!]

[OH NO! A panic-pig!

Reira tries to seem as safe as possible, partly by crouching down.] Um...don't worry 'piggy'. I'm not going to eat you, there's lots of food in the cafeteria for that. So you're still safe to look for what you're looking for!

...Unless you're just doing other things. [After all, looking was just a guess, made from wandering smart pigs.]

[The snout wiggles, sniffing as he quietly trots towards her to get a better sniff, thinking. Even a small kid could traverse the campus faster than a piglet with tiny little legs]

Oink!

Mnh?

[Oh? ....Does...the pig want up?

Tentatively, Reira will bring her hands over.] Ummm...

...Should I...carry you?

[The piglet nods]

Mhn! Then here you go... [Up goes Ryoga!

And from there, she's already starting to wander.] Okay, which way now!

[This can't possibly end poorly.]

[Man, who are these new gym rats in this place all of a sudden? Jolyne's just casually watching this mess from the pool, arms resting on the edge and her cheek on her arms. What a goddamned weirdo.]

What the fuck are you actually doing? Because I'm pretty damn sure barbells aren't something people use to curl. [Of course she's the asshole that would call over from where she is, she gives zero shits about anyone that's not her getting hurt, after all.]

[He stops in mid-curl at the remark, blinking as whips his head up to see who it is]

Huh? Oh... none of the dumbbells are heavy enough, and the modular dumbbells won't support the larger weights.

Do you really need that much weight? [Man, now she's just curious as she's pulling herself out of the pool and moving closer to inspect this shit.]

'Cause I gotta say, I could swear there was ways to make these things heavier since we have non-humans all around here.

[the barbells were loaded up to 400 pounds. His Japanese accent is more pronounce now that he's talking more]

Apparently the heavier weights require a sign off - I did not feel like dealing with it.

You not human, then? [Look, she's curious as hell. And she's noting that accent as she's just sort of inspecting him for a moment or two. He's new, she knows that much.]

Also guessing you're Japanese? Before you try and starting talking that shit with me, I don't know jackshit, just used to hearing the accent. [So many Japanese students here, not to mention family members.]

... Shit, I didn't know that shit required signing off. That's dumb as fucking hell, what the fuck.

[He nods]

Ah. I will remember that... as for what I am. I am a - [He takes a moment to fish the english word out]

[... Wereboar is a new one for her. She's not quite sure what to make of that, but fair is fair and she's just casually letting Stone Free materialize behind her.]

I just got a familiar, so gotta say, your shit is kinda cooler than mine. [Also probably better in design, but that's totally not her fault.]

Uhhh. Name's Jolyne, by the way? I guess?

Ah - are all familiars like this?

[Look, he's a city boy and kind of dim to boot, but at introductions he gives a faint bow]

Nah, they vary pretty wildly. This kind, though, they're pretty much kind of all like this, but even then they can be different. [She hasn't met many others of the type, but she's heard stories here and there about them.

And god, he really is Japanese.]

Was your plan just to do curls or did you have something else in mind? Admittedly, I'm bored as hell as there's only so many laps I can do.

[He gestures to the heavy and speed bags]

[For some reason, she has a feeling those are going to break. Which isn't really surprising.]

Hm. I take it you're a more hand-to-hand type of fighter? [Why is she asking. Stop it.]

That's right. I consider myself a marital artist.

[He folds his arm over his chest, nodding]

I've been learning some Ki attacks as well, still working on them.

[What the fuck is ki? But whatever, that's fine.]

I'm not a martial artist, but hand-to-hand's kinda my jam. If you want something a little more... fun than fucking around with inanimate objects, I've got some free time. 'Sides, with Stone Free here, I hit pretty goddamned hard.

[The gym was the one place Kohaku didn't wear 2-3 layers at all times, but the track pants and baggy t-shirt still left a lot to the imagination. She was doing reps on one of the weight machines, and while she was lifting a pretty respectable amount of weight, she wasn't nearly on Ryoga's absurd level.

She was kind of staring.]

[He finishes the reps before standing, stretching his arms above his head]

Nggh-

[He pauses, noticing someone was watching]

Did you need the bench?

[Oh shit he noticed her staring.]

Ah, no! I just...how the hell are your arms not falling off?

It's just my usual weight for curls?

[He pauses slightly, staring at Kohaku for a moment, as if trying to place if he seen that face before as he puts the weights away]

I am sorry, but do you have a sister?

[There's a clang as Kohaku abruptly drops the weights.]

Wh...what made you bring THAT up?

[He jumps back, hands up]

Sorry - you just look like a classmate of mine I had before coming here.

[Kohaku gave him a concerned look.]

Did she hurt you?

[He seems taken apart by the question, then his shoulders sagged, giving a kind of low sigh - one that seems more aggravated?]

She picks a lot of fights with me. Of course she doesn't want to hold back, while I'll get in trouble if I get too carried away.

[And he's got the bruises to prove it. Ryoga kneels to pick up the dropped weights, his physiology seems a little too sturdy, and just the overall sense of a feralness in his features, especially with the longer than average canines]

[She looked a little (a lot) closer at him. He seemed...not quite human. Some kind of werebeast, maybe? She really needed to do more studying on how to tell different kinds of human passing creatures apart.]

You must be pretty tough to have shrugged all that off.

Also how did you know her?

She's in my homeroom, and I am pretty sturdy.

[He says the last in a mix of statement of fact and a point of pride as he replaces the weights]

I'll believe that.

[Honest curiosity:]

What are you, a werewolf? You look kinda werewolfish.

Hm? Ah... No. I am a were, but Boar, not wolf.

Is that why you can lift like that?

I mean yes, though I'm stronger than most of my kin.

[He scratches his cheek with a half-shrug]
