Memory Sharicus - Oh No, not again!

About 8 am on July 15th, Rex does something stupid in his usual genius way. It was meant to be a small, simple test run of a method to scan a person and instantly gain all the data he needed to produce a Phantom.

The small field the spell was meant to spread just kept growing, until popping like a bubble with the most counterintuitive sound of all- two seconds of white noise, sounding as if it was coming from inches away. Not everyone heard it. But everyone who did...

It's a painless process, almost ticklish and instantaneous as numerous coloured orbs fly out from their chest, taking wild curving trajectories that launch them all over the academy and some of Soleil, coming to a sudden stop and hovering silently for just a few seconds.

That's when they start to slowly float towards the nearest possible recipient of the memory they contain, accelerating as they get closer as if thought and mind have a unique sort of magnetism.

It's sort of beautiful to see, really, not that Rex will notice because 60% of his mind is consumed with fear he will get into trouble and the Phantom project will be compromised. On the other hand, the Phantom project could provide the perfect scapegoat. So about six hours after the initial event, he released his latest creation- the Phantom mischief-maker, Waggery!

What a disaster.

[Yuya starts suddenly, turning to stare at Ana.] Oh! Hi.

[Hm, that was her memory. Awkward. Be cool, Yuya.] What's up?

Nothing much. You just seemed a little...troubled?

[ ??? pls explain. ]

Uh, well--you've seen those lights floating around, right?

[He points to one in the distance but makes no move to get closer to, just in case it gravitates to him.]

Did you...happen to see someone's memories? Is that what this is about?

[hippocarnival]

Yeah. [He rubs the back of his head.] It's just--disorienting when it happens. Actually, I think it was when I saw you at La Lune?

[highelves]

[ .....ah. that. makes sense. now the tables have turned, hm? people are seeing her memories, and she's not sure how to feel about that. ]

Ah.

...That must have been disorienting, I'd imagine.

[hippocarnival]

A bit. [He laughs briefly.] Have you been having trouble with them? The memories.

[highelves]

A little, admittedly. I've run into...ones that I'd have preferred not to, in all honesty.

[hippocarnival]

I think... that's the biggest problem. Besides the invasion of privacy. [It's getting kind of awkward. Ana's is the most mundane he's been faced with.]

[highelves]

Truly. This is getting a little ridiculous, if I'm being honest.

[ just. head in hands. ]

We ought to find out what started this and put an end to it.

[hippocarnival]

Maybe someone will come out an admit it? [Wist did, Kano... didn't but Saeru ratted him out. Nobody here is good at keeping secrets.]

Do you truly think someone would do that?

It probably depends why they did it. At least it's just... embarrassing, at worst?
