Memory Sharicus - Oh No, not again!
About 8 am on July 15th, Rex does something stupid in his usual genius way. It was meant to be a small, simple test run of a method to scan a person and instantly gain all the data he needed to produce a Phantom.
The small field the spell was meant to spread just kept growing, until popping like a bubble with the most counterintuitive sound of all- two seconds of white noise, sounding as if it was coming from inches away. Not everyone heard it. But everyone who did...
It's a painless process, almost ticklish and instantaneous as numerous coloured orbs fly out from their chest, taking wild curving trajectories that launch them all over the academy and some of Soleil, coming to a sudden stop and hovering silently for just a few seconds.
That's when they start to slowly float towards the nearest possible recipient of the memory they contain, accelerating as they get closer as if thought and mind have a unique sort of magnetism.
It's sort of beautiful to see, really, not that Rex will notice because 60% of his mind is consumed with fear he will get into trouble and the Phantom project will be compromised. On the other hand, the Phantom project could provide the perfect scapegoat. So about six hours after the initial event, he released his latest creation- the Phantom mischief-maker, Waggery!
What a disaster.
(( ooc: The planning post is here! Be careful to warn for the nastier memories! If you already have memories planned to share, feel free to write them as a top level or just put up your character and link to the planning/make it a free for all. There'll be a post below for Waggery shenanigans and random NPC memories up for grabs. ))

he's terrible. ruby's angry for her, even when the memory ends. she stands there in a weird daze when it does, because this was a lot to process.
it just makes her want to be there for weiss even more. ]
...Weiss?
no subject
If I'm right about what you just saw, I'm sorry. You shouldn't have had to see that.
no subject
Weiss... I'm really, really sorry.

[Despite her words, she isn't actually fighting the hug.]
no subject
[ still hugging her. ]
Your dad doesn't sound very nice...
no subject
[There's a wry smile at that comment.]
As for the things I did have to work for...
[Weiss gestures, and a gold sphere that had been contained by her glyphs in a bag floats out, a few glyphs guiding them to Ruby.]
Here, to cleanse your metaphorical palate.

her eyes widen. ]
Weiss...for me? [ blink blink ] Really?

[Weiss' hand traces along her scar as she says that.]

I'm ready.

Now was the time. The golem was rising into the hall, almost three times your size with a blade twice your height. You're not stupid, you realize that this is supposed to be an impossible challenge. No doubt he expects you to concede defeat when it becomes apparent that you can't win. He always did underestimate you.
The golem makes the first move, swinging it's oversized sword at you. It's powerful, but slow, so you easily jump out of the way. You strike with a swift series of blows, doing nothing to it but scratching it somewhat.
Myrtenaster flows from one strike to another before you're forced to retreat, still only making superficial damage. Still, you smirk. This was going to be easier than you thought.
You dodge another one of it's blows, allowing you to go in close again. However, this time it abandons it's blade and strikes at you with it's fist. You feel a sharp pain over your left eye as the metal of it's hand leaves a cut on it.
Bleeding somewhat, you decide that you've weakened it enough. A black glyph bounces it into the air, and several white ones hold it in place as you aim your final strike. Your rapier flashes as you slash through the runes that grant it a semblance of life, with you having been scratching through the ones on it's arms and legs all throughout the fight.
Adrenaline sings in your veins, and you fight down the urge to shout out your victory. You won. For the first time, you challenged your Father and won. The first step of what is sure to be many, but you're beginning your journey away from his influence. Mirror Mirror, who just kicked that tin can to the curb!]

even when it cuts her eye. ruby winces in pain, because that hurt, but weiss still persists and therefore so does ruby. she keeps going, keeps fighting, and she wins. not only did she win this fight, but she won over her father, and that in itself is an incredible victory.
when the memory ends, ruby's smiling from ear to ear. ]
no subject
Weiss herself smiles at Ruby's reaction. She knew she made the right choice.]

You're amazing, Weiss! More amazing than I even realized -- that was awesome!

[Weiss? Being humble?]
no subject
[ she's actually enjoying picturing how upset he must have been. weiss nailed that exam. she deserves to be here. ]

[The admiration in her voice when she talks about Winter is clear. It seems she really looks up to her sister.]
no subject
[ as for winter... ]
I can tell you really care about her. I felt it in your memories -- she means a lot to you, right?
no subject
But Winter, she never stopped caring. It was a tough sort of love at times, but she always cared. She was the one who would read to me when I had trouble sleeping, and give me advice for my training. Having her for a sister is one of the best things to ever happen to me.

I'm really glad she was there for you.
