I double dog dare you

Who: Students!
What: Truth or Dare!
When: Some time in July
Where: A beach in the Azores!
Warnings: The nonsense that goes with truth or dare!

No one was quite sure who organized it. People had gotten to talking about it and quietly, without anyone admitting to having the original idea, word had just gotten around to the Daybreak students that a big game of Truth or Dare would be going down on such and such beach at such and such time.

It just kind of assembled itself as people started trickling in. Someone brought a cooler full of drinks (MOSTLY soft drinks, but if someone slipped in a few beers we won't tell anyone.), there's a bunch of bags of chips and such. There's a big bonfire of driftwood for everyone to circle around, and plenty of people to explain the rules if you're a bit more sheltered.

The Rules:
- Someone asks you "Truth or Dare?" And you have to pick one.
- If you say truth, they can ask you a question and you HAVE to answer honestly. If you say dare, they can tell you to do something and you HAVE to do it.
- If you can't get yourself to do it, you're out and are welcome to keep hanging out but can't issue any more challenges.
- No daring people to do anything actually illegal
- If you are making people too uncomfortable with your challenges you can be asked to leave. Don't ruin it for others.

[ooc: There will be a subheading I'll put up in the moment for general mingling, but after that everyone participating should put up a blank toplevel (or one with a brief description of their general attitude or something. I'm not the boss of you.), so that other people can jump them and shout at them Truth or Dare.]
stavros: Nearly tripping and crying out in shock. ([c] no way)

[Kokoro grimaces, but at that last part, she stiffens.]

I meant no -- wait, what?

[Oh look at how adorable that surprise is.]

Yeah, it's a little depressing. I mean, normally when cute girls sneak up on me, it's for something a lot more fun than putting ice down my shirt.

[Only half true, and usually it involves some other kind of prank back home.]
stavros: Kokoro holding her regular whip. ([a] no tripping)

[personal profile] stavros 2019-07-23 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
[That face, it's going red.]

That -- surely there must be a great many more interesting girls at this gathering!

[Not disputing her claims of popularity, anyway.]

[Yeah, that's adorable. It should be criminal. Sari is only more amused, now.]

Every girl is interesting in her own way, sure, but you're the one who tried to put ice down my shirt. So I'd say you're the kind of interesting that interests me right now. What's your name?
stavros: Kokoro blushing, tearing up. ([c] b-but...)

[personal profile] stavros 2019-07-23 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Kokoro Belmont. [cough] I'm unsure about interesting. Is it not normal to take dares you're given? I may not have played this before, but...

[personal profile] inkedspell 2019-07-24 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Sarona holds up a finger.] Yeah, but the dare was to pick anyone, right? You picked me, because it was convenient. That's interesting. Do you only do things that are convenient?
stavros: Kokoro posing with her whip. ([a] woosh)

[personal profile] stavros 2019-07-24 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
No! I back down from no challenge! It is a sacred duty!
inkedspell: (014)

[personal profile] inkedspell 2019-07-24 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh? Then why pick an easy target for a dare? I'm sure there are people here who would have been a lot more of a challenge than little ol' me.
stavros: Kokoro ready to fight. ([a] beside you)

[personal profile] stavros 2019-07-24 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Picking a random person at a party isn't about a challenge! ...Is it?
inkedspell: (012)

[personal profile] inkedspell 2019-07-28 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
Shouldn't it be? It's part of the dare. You're trying to make it hard so you prove just how good you are by pulling it off.
stavros: Indignant. ([a] could you not)

[personal profile] stavros 2019-07-29 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Nobody ever said anything about that. You just have to do it.

Ah, so you've never played before, have you? Everybody who's played before knows the point is about being the most honest and most daring. One upping whoever is daring you.

[Says it like this is well know information.]
stavros: Nearly tripping and crying out in shock. ([c] no way)

Are you sure about that? Why would someone risk more than they had to? Isn't the challenger supposed to come up with the high stakes, and the one accepting the challenge meant to react to them?
