A Birthday Boy

What: James' birthday (spent at home in Arizona) & James' Soleil birthday party, spent at a Café de la Lune in Soleil.

Hey there!
I'm currently out of the country, but my birthday passed recently and I'd like to celebrate with my friends a little once I return home. Are you free on August 18th? I'd love to get a group together and go down to Café de la Lune for the afternoon. It'll be my treat.

No worries if you're not free that day, but I'd love to see you there!

[ On the actual day of, everyone will find that James has reserved the biggest table in the café so everyone can fit comfortably. He's already ordered a few pastries for everyone and is more than willing to order more. James is pretty much beaming. Also his toad is here. Just sitting on his shoulder. Occasionally being fed bits of cake from a special toad-reserved spoon. ]

Thank you all for coming! If I'm honest, I actually had a bit of trouble making friends when I came here. That was new to me. I'm all the more happy to have met all of you. You made me look forward to coming back to France after vacation.

[Toki do you have to make a point out of touching all the pastries...... Keith barely manages to keep himself from asking this. But just because he's managing to keep himself from saying anything doesn't mean he's got the poker face to match. In fact, it's pretty damn far from it; he looks like someone's just forced him to suck on a lemon.]

[Don't instigate, don't say anything, don't-- He looks away from the pastries, focusing instead on his milkshake.]

I was in the infirmary for a few days after a fight went badly in the Outlands. Then I went home for a few days. [Let's just leave out his deal with the freaking seance, yeah? Yeah.] ...So guess I've been well.

You get into any more trouble?

[He has to. It's the only way to really judge the texture. Keith appears a little displeased about something, and then looks to his milkshake, so Toki assumes that's the problem. They must have used bad milk again.]

What did you fight there?

[He's not sure he wants to know, though, so he follows quickly with the answer to Keith's question.]

Well... Maybe. Because like there was an incident with one of the new professors and I kind of offered him money to do something illegal, academic wise, and also I may have like technically "ran away"- [The air quotes are very obvious.] -but it was like for a second because Marcel wasn't paying attention and then I talked to this weird guy who was a ghost that I think Kano summoned from Canada, but anyway, like Marcel couldn't see him, so he didn't exist and I was just talking to myself and that probably got noted somewhere too.

[There's more picking through the pastries, and fingerprints left in some cheese danish.]
