[OPEN]
Who: Ekkehardt and anyone who wants to yell at him for being stupid open
When: September 3rd onwards
Where: Around campus
What: Ekkehardt returns from his post-mission two week break and settles back into being a fixture of the school.
Warnings: Uh, cigarettes in one prompt? Otherwise, shouldn't be any.
A. the doctor is in
[ Ekkehardt can be found at his usual desk in the infirmary, going through all the work that's piled up in his absence. Early on in the month, if he's not busy at his computer or shuffling files, he's meticulously picking glitter and confetti off his uniform.
No matter who catches his attention, his initial greeting is always the same: ]
Hello. Is there something I can help you with?
B. musical aptitude
[ Ekkehardt doesn't seem to really have visible hobbies in the way other people do. He spends much of his time at the infirmary, involved in paperwork, or otherwise preoccupied with something or other - always on his way to something, or from something.
This month, however, is different. Anyone passing by Daybreak's non-denominational chapel on certain days might be able to catch the sound of an organ being played with some proficiency. (It's impossible to play quietly on an organ. He doesn't try.)
There are stops and starts, but as Ekkehardt warms to the instrument again, those become less frequent. He runs through his memorised repertoire at first, and then picks up the sheet music.
It's a nice accompaniment to the cooling weather, at least if you like the sound of hymns. And if you want to step inside to listen - or even request something - he doesn't seem to mind. ]
C. old, bad habits
[ Very rarely, you can catch Ekkehardt at much higher parts of the school. Usually on a rooftop, but sometimes on an unoccupied balcony. The reason he's chosen such high, out of the way spots becomes clear if he's watched for any length of time - he's smoking cigarettes. He doesn't go through them very quickly, but by his distant expression, he appears to have something on his mind. ]
D. wildcard
[ Anything you want! Hit me up! ]

[ He tries not to think about how badly it could have gone. It almost did go the worst it could have gone. ]
As long as you're alive, that's what matters.
no subject
What about everybody else though?
And you?
no subject
So, it worked out.
[ He gives her a little pat on the head, trying to be reassuring. ]
no subject
[Would they have been just as worried if it wasn't her?]
no subject
Perhaps not blow himself up, but then again...he can't say he wouldn't have. ]
If you keep thinking about what could have been, you'll only make yourself upset. You can't change the past, no matter how much you'd like to.
If there something in particular that's on your mind, however, you're free to talk about it if you wish.
no subject
[Was there anything else to talk about though? Puella's not so sure. She had gotten most of it out by now.]
...I missed you. [Including that one. She just not so sure why she's still sad even if he's back now.]
no subject
[ Losing someone, even temporarily, is rough. He can't and won't blame her for struggling with her emotions. ]
no subject
You promise that?
no subject
[ He reaches back one-handed to tug his red hair ribbon free - good thing he's got a lot of those. He takes Puella's hand and ties it loosely around her wrist. ]
no subject
[Well, it had been what he was using to tie his hair back, so he needed it way more than she does. And yet here it was, around her wrist now.]
[She's going to have to take really good care of it.]
--Don't you need this?
[Or give it back, if he wants.]
no subject
[ He gently pats her hand. ]
Think of it as a gift.
no subject
[A gift.]
[If that were the case, Puella's face felt pretty red. But she did have a better plan for this.]
[She took the ribbon off her wrist, and used it to replace the other tie keeping her ponytail together. It was hard getting the bow right, without being able to see it and all, but eventually she felt pretty satisfied with it.]
...There. [She snuggled back into Ekkehardt.] Now I can't loose it.
no subject
[ He keeps his arms around her, staying right where he is. He's fine with this; he'll stay this way as long as she wants it from him. ]
no subject
[Puella nuzzled more to get her face buried. She could easily rest right here if she wanted to, and the temptation was pretty high. She had not felt this well in days and it was well worth it, if Ekkehardt was not going to move either.]
[She rested there for only about a minute, when she notice it again, a soft little tinge of magic. The stars were only just starting to materialize when she caught it, looked around, and snuffed them out.]
I-It happened again... [B-but she does have a little more control now!!]
