You waste your time with hate and regret [Open]
Who: Puella with some Kit cameos, and anyone else
When: August 21st-September 1st
Where: Campus
What: Post mission recovery, post mission blues, and apparently, Postmates.
Warnings: It seems almost mandatory that every Puella log contains sad now
A - Thawing Out (Infirmary, Aug 21st)
[Nothing about it was very serious anymore, but it didn't hurt to be cautious at any rate. Ice magic at that caliber was no joke, and the last thing needed was a rebound because no one had been supervising her.]
[Despite it still being summer, Puella was under at least three blankets, had a heat pad going, and somehow was still feeling a bit cold and shivering occasionally. It kept her in bed and easy to check on at least, but it was far from pleasant. And yet somehow it could've been far worse.]
[The most Puella could do was try to sleep it off and wait for her body heat to come back, but she was also open to guests that wanted to try to cheer her up. There was...plenty of that needed too, given everything else that happened.]
[At a later part of day one visitor did make their way to peek into Puella's room for a few minutes. They did not really say anything though. Did they actually go to this school? Were they even human for that matter? They looked almost like an oversized plush doll than another kid...]
[Of course, they quickly tried to dash off the moment someone else approached anyway.]
B - The Waiting Game (Lum Floor 1, Aug 22nd and onwards)
[Very rarely does Puella try to find Ekkehardt at his room, or even try to go in there for that matter, but she stay right at the door wanting to go in. Alas, it seemed to be lock for the time being. Maybe because it'll help in recover faster, or maybe so his casket won't get vandalized anymore.]
[Regardless of the reason, Puella tried giving the door a tug and no use. Not that she tried very hard at all, but it was obvious it wasn't going to open up any time soon. Or maybe she just didn't actually want to see what was inside. ...So she paced around the door instead. Maybe, just maybe, if she stayed around long enough Ekkehardt would open it on his own and come out. And...]
[...No, it wouldn't be that easy. She saw what happened to him, and it wasn't pretty. How exactly was he supposed to come back from that?]
Ekke..? [She asked too softly for anyone to hear. No reply. She glanced down at the floor with her vision starting to blur.]
[Puella found a sofa available in the common room to curl up on. She...needed a moment. None of this would've happened if she hadn't been so careless.]
C - Delivered in 30 Minutes or Free (Campus, Anytime)
[As the start of the school year got closer, Kit was beginning to make himself a little more known around the academy. Not because he really wanted to, mind you, his English and French was horribly broken so there was barely anyone to communicate with. And there was still...his over all appearance not fitting in to worry about as well. But the trips were quick, faster still because he was nervous about being seen, which worked out well in a way since he always did get everything delivered on time.]
[So whenever he was seen, he was always carrying something. A coffee here, takeout there, way too many energy drinks everywhere - all of which seemed to go into one of two directions: Avery's apartment or his office.]
[Come to think of it, that dark purple cloak and aesthetic kind of matched with Avery's too. ...Weird.]
D - Wildcard
[Surprise me with anything.]

[Surprise me with anything.]
no subject
But no. Grimm respects Puella too much to lie to her.]
That...I am afraid I cannot do. Nor can I change what has come to past. Ekkehardt's survival is in his own hands now.
[It was a choice the man made and so the consequences are his.]
Do you wish to speak to me about what happened? I will listen to whatever you may have to say.
no subject
...He got hurt because of me. ['Hurt' sure is a loose word for somebody that self-destructed. And perhaps there was more to it than just that, but that was the only possible reason Puella could put together. It happened not long after she got the ice, and everything else got too chaotic and frantic to know what was going on.]
[But the fact remained, Puella was the one that got the most severely hurt. And things didn't really start to go bad until that point. All because she got too careless, when she said she wouldn't. And it cost that much.]
no subject
What Grimm saw were flashes. Moments. But they'd be with her until the day she passed on.]
May I?
[He holds out his hands for a hug. Just something to warm her up. Something to free her from the cold in Puella's heart, if just for a little while.]
no subject
[For that reason she was reluctant to touch him. However if it meant being even just a little bit warmer, she might as well go for it. As well as go all in.]
no subject
But it is in defiance of that cold that Grimm is warmer then usual as he pulls Puella into a hug.]
I cannot change what has happened and 'What ifs' are terrible things to become consumed by. But I can offer this, a warmth that is endless. And a place to cry, if you need it.
[Sometimes it felt better to let it all out, after all.]
no subject
...I just want him to come back. [If it was fine to let it all out, then she will. Apparently Grimm might be converted into an over sized tissue box by the time this was done.]
no subject
I know Puella. I know.
[He gently continues to hold her, shifting only once so it was a little more comfortable.]
But I do not believe it is his time yet. And I know he would not want to leave you upset like this. No, he will come back. I believe in him.
no subject
No, he wouldn't want that... [Ekkehardt would want her to be happy, regardless. She knows this. But this stuff was hard right now.]
He wouldn't give up either...
[He was...Also her caretaker at the moment too. Puella just realized, sooner or later her parents will have to know what happened.]
[...Possibly all of it. If they haven't been informed already.]
no subject
But for a child, it was different.]
No he would not. If he didn't, I would go and have...words with him. Quite a few words.
[Not very nice words at that. Or go find his dreams.]
Besides, he knows not to worry others.
no subject
no subject
[Grimm says this completely seriously. Some souls do indeed still dream and the Nightmare King can get at it. Ekkehardt would have a very interesting afterlife in that case.]
I did know him when he was younger, after all. There would be quite a number of things I could say.
no subject
You can do that!? [This is all news to her!]
You did?
no subject
[He winks, laughing easily. There is a lot Puella does not know about Grimm. He doesn't talk about himself much.]
And yes, I did. He was quite the charming young man and I quite enjoy my time with him.
no subject
[There was...supposedly a couple people here that could do that.]
[But hey, Ekkehardt never talks much about himself either. So she softened a bit.] ...What was he like?
no subject
Dreams, dear friend. All dream, do they not?
[But he doesn't seem willing to elaborate on that. Especially once Puella asks her next question.
And so begins Grimm's other hobby: teasing Ekkehardt, even if he was not here.]
He was adorable. A little shy, a little nervous. It was charming and our first meeting is something I treasure.
Not that I do not treasure the time I have with him now. [He continues, a little more seriously now.] Ekkehardt as he is now is quite different then the young man I met all those years ago. But I do admire the growth he has shown, the changes choice has given him.
[He was still mad, but he did have to admire the determination it takes to basically blow yourself up to save others.
But it also helps Ekkehardt is just as extra as Grimm is.]
no subject
If they're asleep yeah, I guess so. [But the dead - the actual dead dead - can they?]
[Shy and nervous were not really things she would use to describe Ekkehardt though. How long had they known each other exactly? It had got to be an extra long time.]
I can't really imagine him being any of those things. [The Ekke she knew was strong and brave - and very stoic.] It's not like him...
no subject
Yes, dreams.
[Dreams and nightmares.
He laughs a little at her next remark.]
It really is quite the difference. But people change as they grow, an inevitability that comes with life. I was different in my younger years too.
[A long, long, long time ago.]
no subject
So, you been friends for a really, really long time?
no subject
"Shadows dream of endless fire..."]
It has been three years now. But I met Ekkehardt the first time when he was younger.
[Notably Grimm doesn't say that if it was when he was young too.]
It has been entertaining, although perhaps I do tease him too much.
no subject
[She eventually pulls herself together.] Like...like the sweater?
no subject
[Okay, now he's just messing with Ekkehardt when he physically can't defend himself.]
I should drag him out for shopping more often, now that I think of it.
[But perhaps after he comes back.]
no subject
...Do you like Ekke? [It was only a matter of time until Puella asked. Despite it being so innocent, this probably was not referring to the normal sort of 'like']
no subject
Of course! He is someone I treasure dearly alongside my troupe. I--
[But it does hit him. Grimm pauses, rewinds everything he's said thus far before just...starting to laugh.
Oops. Yes, he knows exactly what Puella means by 'like'.]
no subject
So you do like him. Does he know too?
[All the more reason why Ekkehardt absolutely cannot die then - Grimm needs to confess his love to him.]
no subject
I...do hope so. But perhaps not in that manner? We share a connection, yes, but...
[Grimm's just...going to bury his face in his hands and stop talking. It is incredibly rare that he is this off-kilter. Enjoy it Puella.]
