[Open] Life in the Fast Lane

Who: Jail, various innocent bystanders, and YOU.
What: Recovering from a Wild night out.
When: September 23rd, right after the Wild Hunt.
Where: Her classroom, the teacher's lounge, and the Internet.
Warnings: References to alcohol, cyberbullying the fair folk, poor netiquette, and Jailbreak.

I. too tired to make it

Okay, we're just... we're just gonna have a nice, low-key class today. With no bright lights... or loud noises...

[This is admittedly not the first time that Jail has stumbled blearily into one of her own lectures wearing a large pair of mirrorshades and wincing every time someone raises their voice. It's just for a different reason than usual.]

[She may be skilled and experienced, but in the end she's only mortal- and pushing thirty. A long, long night of running around laughing in the face of death and daring the Wild Hunt to do its' worst is worth it by her standards, but that doesn't mean she doesn't still have to pay for it the next day. Between the muscle pain and the headache, this is shaping up to be an impressive hangover despite the total lack of alcohol involved.]

[Gesturing at the projector turns it on, and it begins playing a series of Mythbusters episodes with the volume turned down as low as possible.]

[As for Jail herself, she has her head down on her desk and is snoring audibly.]

II. had a nasty reputation

[At some point around noon, a video goes up on the Iris network from Jail's account. No comments are attached.]

[The title reads "Wild Hunt epic fail compilation".]

[It's just a solid four minutes of footage of the Wild Hunt's terrible blood-soaked creatures accidentally running into each other, misaiming thrown weapons, and generally fucking up.]

[One part shows Jail herself balancing on the roof of her car, then falling backwards through the sunroof, legs flailing. So at least she's being fair about it.]

III. they had one thing in common [closed to staff]

[Jail is currently lying facedown on a rug in the break room, apparently having decided to stay there for the remainder of the day. She has her phone in one hand, and is texting blindly.]

[If you're in the Daybreak staff group chat, you'll see this:]

we get magically mindscrewed way too often
and it's becoming a security concern

[If you weren't aware that the faculty had an unofficial group chat, or that you were in it... well, knowing Jail it's entirely possible that up until just now they didn't and you weren't. She's too tired for subtlety.]

[She almost types out a message asking if anybody would recommend it, but changes her mind about doing so and backspaces about halfway through.

Instead:]
I've seen a few of the other students since I got here, some of them are a hell of a mess

[Thanks in part to one conversation she's had with Lia since getting here, she's considering approaching infirmary staff to make an offer to help out, and if something like this happens again, maybe she can do a little something about it.]

I'm pretty sure one of the two a couple rooms down from me is just straight up locking himself in there now, I haven't actually seen him yet

think I'm gonna give him a few days at least. if he's still holed up later then I'll ask someone to come check on him.

[Maybe leaving him alone wouldn't the best idea, but then sometimes, immediately doing or saying something isn't the best idea either, especially not when the person doing/saying would be a total stranger like her.]
