Where: On the network, Lum 3's common room, the library

Cake Time! (Oct. 10th, Closed to Hieke)
[Reira's birthday... according to the files he's seen, it's coming up within a couple of days. Of course he's going to try to do something for her, and... well, he's got an idea, at least, for what can be done for the cake. When he thinks back to that one meeting...]

Hieke, may I ask you a favor?

An Invitation (Oct. 10th, UN: Ahania)
[And now the next part of his plan... Well, that's when he encounters a bit of a problem: he actually has no idea who Reira's friends are at this school. So... network it is.]

For those of you that are friends with Reira, her birthday is on the 12th. There will be a small get-together on floor three of the Lumière dorm for those who wish to celebrate with her.

Party Like It's Your Birthday (Oct. 12th)
[It... is in fact a small get-together, set up in the common room of Lum's third floor (though hopefully not spilling into any pumpkin carving going on that day). There's a cake, some soda, and V there with Reira. Come tell the birthday girl happy birthday!

OOC: Feel free to treat this as a general mingle prompt! V will be around to interact with people, but most of the focus is supposed to be on Reira since it's her birthday!!]

And Back to the Books
[Throughout the month, when birthday preparations aren't being made, V's mostly going to be found in his main haunt around the school--the library. He's largely focused on his reading or gathering books to go back to reading, but he'll greet anyone who approaches him.]

Mostly I was going to see what else happens. [That....that only partly makes sense.] Some people brought me things before you did, and I want to see if more things come.

I've never had a birthday, so I didn't know they had games...

Um! ...The sprites do things through me, and I let them...I'm trying to learn to just use their magic stuff to do the same thing though. Like how wind can make wind...

The sprites are my bracelets... [She holds them up. Tobias might recall that one of these became something during that whole deal with the owl.] ...They're supposed to keep me safe. So when dangerous stuff happens, they take over and run away.

But if I have to fight something, then I shouldn't run, so I have to make sure they listen now.

[Basically they're very very incredible babysitters.]

[That's a Very good question.] They sort of do. It's like talking to birds, and flowers...um.

[wait shit you're a bird] ...Most birds I guess...you don't talk like other birds, you just talk in my head.

[She's just saying, Tobias. To be fair though, he has seen her chitter at birds, so he can at least likely understand what she means.]

I don't think you need a brain to talk. Just enough of something else to do the thinking.

[Case in point plants have a heck of a lot going on in response to what's around them. A lot more than most would think.]

[He's not scornful, he's genuinely curious. It's such a bizarre thing to think about--animals being sentient is easy to swallow, he understood that ages ago.]

Ummm...normally just things like what's in the dirt.

Sometimes though, if some of the other grass is cut, they start shouting 'wolf wolf wolf!' or 'cat cat cat'! Or something that feels like that.

[Grass doesn't really use words. Grass DOES however, give off a scent that attracts predators when they're cut, because grass is apparently petty as shit.]

The grass is. It feels like shouting.

I don't think it's afraid of wolves, it's just afraid of the things eating it. It probably wants those things to eat the ones eating it.

[He's never felt like the grass is shouting for him to eat mice. (It wouldn't work. He has very little sense of smell.)]

I don't know. I must somehow though...it's probably like how other flowers know when the sun is out.
