What: Kohaku is haunted and it's making her act subtly different

Kohaku usually gives off a slightly scruffy, twitchy energy. She slouches, she startles easily, her clothes never look like they QUITE fit right, her hair is usually a mess, and she generally gives you the impression that any second she might suddenly hear a predator in an underbrush and run away.
Today she's actually wearing her student council uniform for once, which includes a sword. All the other council members have swords, so even if her sword wasn't standard issue she'd brought it along just so she didn't feel left out. But that was the least of the changes.
There's something different about her that's a bit harder than her wardrobe choices to put your finger on. She looks less "scruffy" and more tousled. Less nervous and more alert. She's got a confidence about her, not in her own abilities, but just in her general presence. She'd always had confidence, but now she had swagger.
And it only gets weirder from there.

After classes, it was pretty common for students to head out into Soleil to relax and Kohaku was no exception. She was kicking back at a cafe while kind of looking at her homework, but she had to admit her heart wasn't in it. Maybe a snack would help.
Without thinking about it, Kohaku leaned back in her chair as a waitress walked by and said, in flawless French. "Yer pardon lass, but my throat be drier than the Sahara. Fetch me a flagon of your finest Coca-cola and be quick about it."
That got her a dirty look and no coke, which left her baffled. She sat up, looking around in confusion, and switched back to Japanese, "What the fuck did I just say?"

Student Council Business. There was a schoolwide survey about what the student body would like the student council to focus on. Because Daybreak waa very OLD school they did it on paper instead of electronically, which meant someone had to actually go and collect them. That someone was usually a seneschal, and Kohaku had said "Not It" last.
The person who just leaned on the door to your classroom in a swirl of rose petals right as class was wrapping up, looking like she belonged on the set of Ocean's Eleven, was definitely Kohaku, but seeing her NOT looking like an existentially exhausted goblin was...bizarre. She glanced around at the teacher and said, "I'm here for that survey thing? If anyone actually did it."

Random question is it weird to look at the sun and suddenly know what our latitude is? I couldn't even keep track of which was which before today!
It's about 45 degrees North, by the way. If you're curious.
