Who: Jolyne and open (closed prompt for Jonathan)
When: Sometime in November, idk
Where: Various places. Some empty room, the quad, etc.
What: Hamon training! More stupid dancing garbage! Training! Really bad memories time!
Warnings: Jolyne is Jolyne, as always. CW: drugs on the D prompt.
A. Dancing
As per usual, Jolyne can be found pretty easily outside practicing her ridiculous dance moves. Anyone who has been paying attention is probably more than familiar with her nonsense at this point. The song and dance for the day is kind of a little raunchy in lyrics but less so in the moves. A weirder one for her, certainly, and not as bombastic and loud as her stuff normally is.
As usual, she can be grabbed after she's done and taking a water break. With Stone Free, as usual, chilling out not too far away.
B. Training
Jolyne is the easiest to always find in the Legionnaire Quarters, as always punching the absolute hell out of a punching bag, swimming in the pool despite the weather outside, or jogging.
However, this time she's also seen... lifting weights? Weird and new, but why not. It seems her weights range from smaller weights up to something that would almost never be seen on someone with her body type. She doesn't seem to be having a whole lot of issues with this whole thing, especially since those who are paying attention my notice the strings wrapped around her wrists and on the weights themselves.
What the hell is she even doing?
C. Garage
Mechanics club was kind of a come or go sort of thing, Jolyne not particularly caring if someone really wanted to get involved or not. It was a formality to keep up with the whole list of those in the club proper, since she'd only really done the club in the first place to get access to parts she wouldn't noramlly get a hold of. But she's pretty easily found in there, working on her bike that... at least has a basic skeleton going on for it.
In fact, she's found in clothing that isn't her normal. Instead it seems to be a white (or formally white, now stained with oil and the like) shirt that's rolled up to her elbows and a pair of jeans that are just as covered. And goddamned black boots. Her hair is out of its usual style and instead tied back in a simple ponytail.
Anyone that bothers to check on her will find her hard at work and focused on getting the engine on this thing fine tuned. Or maybe it's better to not interrupt her while she seems something other than irritated at the world.
D. Greenhouse, potential CW: drugs
It hadn't been her idea to plant these, not in the slightest, but she'd... kind of inherited this particularly hidden little plot. A small crop of marijuana and mushrooms. She didn't know shit about how mushrooms worked, so she'd sort of let them go a bit with the least heavy hand possible while instead working on the crop she was far more familiar with.
Despite the falling out, despite the way things went, she at least was going to try and keep something alive that she was left with. And, despite everything, she actually was doing a fairly good job at keeping them alive and somehow not being found out.
She wasn't using it, of course not, but it was something to do and see how everything turned out.
Though anyone passing by might hear some music playing in the background. Certainly not something to be growing plants to, right?
E. Hamon training (closed to Jonathan)
This was stupid, the whole idea was absolutely stupid. But her great x3 grandfather had promised to teach her this whole... hamon or whatever thing. And she'd been debating on going through with it or not, she didn't mind learning something new, necessarily. But if she learned this, wouldn't this make her more of a target for them to keep her around? Ugh.
Ultimately she's determined that she might as well see how this goes, if it's utter bullshit then she can leave. It's not like a bat can stop her, anyway. She's even been nice enough to keep Stone Free unsummoned for the time being.
But she's prompt and on time, if nothing else, slipping into this empty classroom and frowning as she leans against the now closed door.
"This better be worth my time, I could be doing literally anything else."

"From here on out however, it's now just a matter of practice! ...Including for breathing, I shall admit. It does take a while to get into the habit..."
no subject
Ugh, breathing. Right. "How do you even practice this kind of shit?"
no subject
Now.
"Primarily, we need to work on your ability to generate, and maintain hamon. This involves quite a lot of breathing exercise- however, with how quickly you were able to maintain the pattern earlier, I have no doubts that we can succeed. The most difficult part, ultimately, is maintaining that pattern no matter the cost. What hamon you build within yourself to heal and restore yourself ultimately won't fade if you simply fail to hold the pattern for a short time of course- no, that requires exhausting your reserves more properly..though I suspect failing to rejuvenate yourself with time would also have the same effect..." he mutters, frowning.
Ah well. "When it comes to actually bringing that energy outward however- that is where maintaining it is necessary. Unless you are breathing, you cannot send that energy outward." He speaks with absolute grave severity, when he presents the last point.
It is the rule which caused his death after all.
no subject
Maintaining your breathing and that pattern, she's already pretty sure she knows how she's going to have to go about that. It's more... not thinking about it and solely it, she has to be doing something else in that pattern to keep her focus on it. Which, with her abilities, shouldn't be too difficult for her to do. Not that she's ever really been all that keen on listening to people when it comes to being told what to do. But this is a fighting application and damn if she won't slowly nod along with this mess.
...
Why is he suddenly getting dark about this? Probably because she has no idea how he died other than it was evidently on a boat and some dickhead stole his body. She knows nothing more detailed than that.
"So you gotta keep that pattern and shit even while trying to use it against someone? I mean... I guess that's not too difficult when you're used to thinking about ten million different things at once in a fight." Except that she also is absolutely reckless and her breathing and temper are gone extremely quickly if someone gives her a reason to get a rise out of her.
no subject
You could die, even! But he won't say that. As it is, he does beam at the other....perhaps a bit knowingly. "It's trickier than it sounds ultimately- but that is after all what practice is for."
no subject
"That's not a problem, actually~" Jolyne, no, do not do this right now. "Come at me, lemme show you what I mean." JOLYNE, NO.
no subject
"...I worry for far more than a bat, Jolyne," he says softly.
"...I would prefer after all, that we not meet the same end."
no subject
God.
Dammit.
"Okay. Okayokayokay. Let me level with you here: no one has told me shit and all I know is from books and shit. All I know is that you evidently died on a fucking boat and some jackass vampire thing took your body, I guess? Dude, I have no idea why this is such a huge fucking deal." Oh boy, here we go.
no subject
".Yes...Of course," he admits, embarrassed. "I certainly did not assume you knew the details- truthfully I would have been surprised if Erina had even shared the details to Speedwagon..." Ah, but he's digressing.
"Dio's abilities as a vampire were extremely extensive- he could manipulate any part of his body, fluids included. To this end, he could even shoot from his eyes what seemed to be lasers, with an incredible precision." There is a pause, as he looks to Jolyne.
"These...are what he struck me with- directly through my arms, and then my throat. As I could not breathe properly any longer, I was therefore unable to properly fight him. I could only hold him down and hope for Erina's own escape."
no subject
Who the fuck names a kid Dio?
"I have one question for you before I continue, I guess hypothetical: who the fuck names their kid that? Like, I know I've heard my mom use that word before and it sure as shit wasn't a name of a person." It means god, basically, which is why this is all kind of weirdly fucking surreal to her. Bonuses of an Italian-American mom, probably.
"Also, here's the difference between you and I, one: evidently my dad already killed that fucker off for good. Two: I can turn what seems to be my entire body into string, even as a defense mechanism. Three: I KIND OF DO THAT SHIT OUT OF INSTINCT AND REACTION THAN ACTIVELY THINKING ABOUT IT. So I think we're good."
no subject
"I..." Hey! He didn't know that. "...That's a good question. I suppose his parents would have given him the name? ...We lived in England, so I can't be sure it isn't coincidence..." Maybe Dio's mom was Italian? A Mystery.
Jonathan frowns a bit at the idea that just because One threat is gone another won't come up, but- hmm. "...That is a good point I admit. Why...I imagine that even if your throat were compromised, you could simply open a hole to your lungs and carry on that way..."
That's a scary idea if anything were ever presented! He does fidget a bit however. "I do apologize for making the matter a bit grim- it's...a rather severe subject, is all." Trauma!
TRAUMA!!
no subject
Because nothing can really be worse than Dio at this point, right? Right. "I mean, I don't see why the hell not? I haven't really... tested that kind of theory, but maybe I will in the future on a way smaller scale to see how that works." That's going to end poorly more than anything else.
"... It's fine, I guess. Better to get that shit out than bottle it all up, right?" Trauma is for nerds!
no subject
Well then. He blinks rather rapidly as Jolyne more or less shrugs through the idea, before nodding slowly. "...Truthfully it feels rude of me to bring it forward in such a way but...I cannot deny that it feels less pressuring a matter, once shared." Ah, but-
"By smaller scale...just what would you be trying to put a hole through to?"
no subject
This is the same woman who has set her hand on fire at least twice to see just how flammable she was before she got into the fight that scarred her arms up. She's not the smartest bulb in the box some days. "Probably start with something small, like putting a hole through my wrist or something, where there's a lot of veins. Since if I lose some blood, it's whatever, it can be replaced and isn't life threatening. After that, probably move on to perhaps... like my sinuses or something. Compromises breathing, but I can breathe through my mouth so also not threatening..."
no subject
oh no
"That sounds like a relatively safe way to test it step by step- there certainly would not be much that can be tested without involving yourself after all, so having those steps upward makes it far easier to avoid serious harm. Especially while on the campus."
NO!!
no subject
She's nodding quickly and just running through the list in her head, this won't end poorly in the slightest, of course not.
"I think that'll be the plan of action, then! Because I got nothin' else to go on right now."
