Who: Anyone!
What: Time to gather some meteors!
When: Early/Mid January are the most likely, but anytime in January
Where: In dem hills
Warnings: Snow...
Puella had been keeping an eye on the meteor shower that was supposed to happen for quite some time. How could she not? This was exactly the kind of stuff she lived for. But it was an event that just kept getting better. Not only could she see a bunch of stars at one time, but a bunch of them fell in the mountains, and the school was outright encouraging anyone to go get them. To keep.
Puella got to own real stars of her very own. Who cares about the Anvil - these were going into a personal collection!
It did not take much effort at all to get her to climb up into the peaks to search for where ever those meteorites had landed. Luckily she came prepared for the job - it was kind of rushed but she put together a child sized mining cap with some enchants to locate rare ores. It should lead her to the good stuff. You know, kind of off the track and where the snowbanks had been growing. It's a damn good thing she did bring a mining cap because most of that snow was probably taller than she was, and she pretty much sank right in.
...And also that she was wearing a cloak that always kept her warm. That, that probably helped a ton too.
Every so often she could be seen hoping in the snow to get around or borrowing deeper. Sometimes popping up unexpectedly to startle people. Yes this was a very serious mission but it was slowly turning into a time to play too. Snow is generally supposed to be fun!

"Hii there~!"

He wasn't any good at cold, though, and was shivering despite wearing an excessive number of layers. He looked concerned for Puella's comparatively light outfit, but didn't actually say anything about it. Maybe the cloak was magic.
"H-hello..."
no subject
And she had to observe Zagreus all over. "...I don't think I ever met you before..."
Likely because of the age difference. Puella does not get to see that many older students normally.
no subject
What was HE doing up here, for that matter? He wasn't entirely sure. In the underworld there was so many jewels and gold around that they were a sort of omnipresent background radiation to his life, so he'd never really thought about how they would effect him when they were more rare.
no subject
Although, she can't remember if the magic was his doing or not. Or if the whole thing was commissioned entirely. It didn't exactly matter though.
But she does notice that he seemed to be not enjoying as much. "...You look cold though."
Just felt like pointing that out!
no subject
He left that at that, though, as his attention was wandering. After a moment he pointed off somewhere to his left. "The star is that way."
no subject
She pulled herself out of the snow tunnel to move towards that direction. She had...a good feeling about this. Her cap acting a bit funny, so his directions had to be correct.
no subject
Zagreus might be cold, but he was also a big guy. He led the way, stomping a path through the snow so that it would already be packed down when Puella followed.
"Zagreus, by the way. What's your name?"
no subject
"Puella!" she was happy to respond.
"I never lived underground before... Do you like stars too?"
If he hadn't seen that many, she could understand why!
no subject
He chuckled, slightly. "But I do like that I get to decide for myself now that I'm up here. My father always spoke scathingly of everything the surface has to offer. 'A windswept wasteland' he called it."
A little known fact: there is no wind in the underworld.
no subject
Is that what he meant to mean?
"It's okay though. I never got to see the stars that often either. Not until I moved to the school."
There's a joke here somewhere about London weather.
no subject
Though as he said this, he had to look around the snowy mountains surrounding them. "Maybe this part is a bit of a wasteland, but not the rest of it."
no subject
Snow and mountains and wilderness was kind of fun...sometimes. They were places that were exploreable.
It's kind of funny, she has probably seen non-Earthly places by now that were more wasteland-y than this.
no subject
Zagreus stopped in front of a hole in the snow a few feet across. It was already half full, but it was clear there had been some kind of impact here not too long ago. "Anyways, I'm not sure what it is, but this is it!"
no subject
With that, she moves forward and saw the weird displacement of snow. Something sure did land here, even if it was covered up by now. She had to follow the pinging sound her mining cap was making to know what direction to go in.
Flop and diggy diggy. "....I found something!!"
It looked kinda like a rock but also not a rock from the little snow hole she dug out. It's rather heavy.
no subject
There was no denying that it held material wealth within it, but...there was something that felt OFF about it. This was not part of the wealth of the Earth. It was something alien.
After a moment, he handed the space rock back to Puella. "Now that's what I call a strange rock."
no subject
"It looks nothing like a star..."
She feels a little bit gypped. Although despite that, it was still kinda neat. At least.
no subject
no subject
She tries to toss it a little in the air. It does feel funnier than most other rocks would. And it looks different too.
"Even if it's not shaped like a star - that's really cool!!"
Just a weird, space rock.
no subject
He shivered again. "Well, I found it, so it should stop bugging me now. I'm going to head back towards the school. This is no place for people to stay."
no subject
"Don't you want it?"
He did find the rock first...only fair to have first dibs on it.
no subject
no subject
"They did say we could make things out of them."
Or something to that effect.
no subject
no subject
"Magical things, probably."
no subject
no subject
"I'll make sure to keep it forever then!"

That would be a teacup, dropping into the snow to great steamy fanfare as hot liquid meets cold slush. That would also be the one (1) and only Shikyoin Hibiki, bundled up against the elements as Ando trails behind with a basket of meteors - all of which should ping Puella’s cap.
Provided she notices around the way Hibiki, too, is beginning to emit steam.
no subject
"Wow... you found a LOT."
Any chance she would be willing to share? There seems to be a distinct lack of acknowledging of the teacup fatality that just occurred right in front of her.
no subject
Hibiki does not lower herself to explaining this, however. Because things are rising instead. Like steam. And her temper.
“SILENCE THAT TUMULTUOUS RACKET!” she snaps. Her head is ringing. She can’t see straight. Something is....! Something in the near vicinity is.....!! “WHAT EVEN IS THAT RUCKUS?!”
no subject
"...What, you mean this?" she motioned to the cap. That was probably it. That was the only thing different.
"It's my special star detector!"
It's cool, right??
no subject
Assuming it's possible for human physiology to work that way. But what has she said previously about genius and the impossible?
"A STAR DETECTOR DISRUPTIVE TO LIVING STARS IS COUNTERPRODUCTIVE! TURN IT OFF IMMEDIATELY!"
Ando raises his eyes above their meteor stash. "Maa-ster Hibiki, I believe the child meant--"
"DON'T CONTRIBUTE, ANDO!"
Thus is the butler silenced, after a soft, contrite bleat. Now all that remains is for the child to follow suit.
no subject
"But if I turn it off, I won't find any stars of my own..."
She looks closer at the basket, even if she has to lean slightly out of Hibki's way.
And then points at it.
"Unless I can have some of those."
no subject
She'll have an answer for the kid, no worries. But right now, she needs a moment to comprehend that's a thing that just happened. It does not, you see. To her.
Ando considers this situmaa-tion. Then he, and his basket of Top Class Meteors, begin sliding backwards. How far does he have to go before the storm in Maa-ster Hibiki's heart may be soothed.....?
no subject
"N...no..." she's probably not even completely sure what that word means, honestly.
"It's just that...I came all the way here to find some, and you got a lot right there."
More than enough that missing a couple shouldn't matter much, right?
"And they are pretty."
1/hibiki
Does she not even know--
hibiki/2
Ando, maa-nwhile, has continued to slide backwards. His pace seems insufficient, though, so he sets the basket down on a nearby patch of ice and pushes it.
The meteors are now sliding away! Perhaps they're simply leaving range, but perhaps they're also fair game?
no subject
Puella only finally looked over again (And to ignore Hibiki's tantrum) to see that the meteors are slipping out of everyone's reach. Or so it seemed.
Suddenly Puella just poofed out of existence. Hibiki did want her gone right? Although she did leave behind purple particles of stars and space glitter as she vanished. That was probably normal.
"Okay!" she speaks up, only this time a yard or so away from them, sliding down the slope backwards with the meteor basket with her
There is no need to hunt for any more, not when she has this.

And too many weird little steaming puddles from spilled and spewed tea.
