fun with costumes [OPEN]
Who: You! Everyone else! Oh and also Hornet is here too, somewhere.
What: Shopping! Costume workshops!
When: The days leading up to Halloween celebrations (23-29 October)
Where: Soleil and the Academy campus!
A. Shopping Trip
[ Soleil is buzzing with activity as students flock to prepare for Halloween. Whether it's to marvel at what other people have left behind, to marvel at what's been donated in previous years, or you're just trying to pick a costume at all, you have no shortage of creations to gaze upon - and no shortage of your peers to judge them, either.
You can sometimes catch Hornet here, in the days that come, squinting suspiciously at the insect costumes. She mutters and paces, tugging at them like they're personally offensive to her. ]
B. Necessary Modifications
[ For those of a more crafty persuasion, the Academy has opened some usually-vacant classrooms as a makeshift work area for designing and creating your own costumes, or making modifications of your own.
Hornet has taken over a corner of one of the rooms. She's almost a permanent fixture of the workshop, as she sews and cuts with an intensity she usually only reserves for battles. ]
C. Wildcard
[ You can use this to just bother Hornet, or make up your own prompts. Go wild and treat this as a mingle log! ]

That is about when the fabric starts moving. Or, well.]
....Oh it's you. [She's pretty sure there aren't a lot of folks that tiny! And there's definitely some kind of folk under there.]
....
Is this your costume?
no subject
[The fabric stops briefly but there was a slight wave of happy. They aren't really sure about the costume thing but they are having fun, at least.]
no subject
...
I don't know what costume to wear yet. Someone else picked it last time.
[It be that way sometimes.]
no subject
[Looks around at the fabric bundle again, since they're not exactly sure what they were doing.]
[What does make a good costume?]
no subject
She's going to be wrong.]
...
Do you not know what ghosts are?
[That's not it!]
no subject
[...Because they aren't so sure about that one either. Or thought too much about what that word actually means.]
[And after a few seconds shook their head.]
no subject
But if there's one thing Reira knows, it's what a ghost is! ...Maybe.] It's supposed to be a dead thing. They die, but they're still there as a sort of light thing that you can go through. A lot of people draw them wearing sheets though, with eyes to see through. ...Maybe so people who can't see ghosts can see the sheets and know they're there.
no subject
[And people could see them just fine and they don't have a sheet. Although cloak is sorta like a sheet. Maybe that's what makes them a ghost.]
[Should they wear another sheet then?]
no subject
[She's not sure if she gets what the concern and confusion is about but...] If you're dressed up as something, you're not actually something. ...So you're not really a ghost...
no subject
[They might have to use phone for this.] why am i call ghost
no subject
[Well gee she kinda wishes she knew they could do that before... ...well anyway.] It's not that you 'are' a ghost. You're just dressed up as one, sort of, since you have a sheet on.
...I guess you didn't know that you were dressed up as one though...
no subject
[...Also they only got it recently.]
[As for why they're dressed this way, they look down to examine themselves. ...And don't really know why it is either.]
[They remember always looking this way.]
[Is that bad?]
no subject
...Ohhhhhh.
I don't mean you look like one now!! Just when the sheet's over your head! That's what 'ghosts' look like when people draw them. ...Not the way you look now.
I don't think you normally look like a ghost. You just look like you.
no subject
[A bit.]
[But not really.]
somone said i was a ghost
before.
no subject
...You just look like you I guess? Also you're not dead, so it'd be hard to be a ghost.
no subject
no subject
I don't think I've met them at all. I guess I'll know when I see them, but still...did they say why?
no subject
helped me from bad guy
[Not sure why they felt like adding that detail, but they did.]
no subject
Either way, you're a good You. That's probably what's important.
no subject
[They nod again. They are probably good?? Others have said before so it might be true. Except for that bad guy.]
