[Toki doesn't know what happened, but there's a weird guy in a red costume, and a talking bear. He doesn't recognize Gongenzaka's voice, because he doesn't pick on those things.]

Am I dead?

[Because that would make this make sense.]

[It takes him a minute to register that Yuya and Gongenzaka are there, but he can't stop screaming and Gongenzaka is making it worse. He can still hear the thing growling, smell the blood, hear the bones snap. She was right there, right there, less than ten feet away and he couldn't do anything but watch. He shoves his fist in his mouth, but it's not really helping the noise. He's biting down hard enough to pierce the skin and draw blood. He has not dealt with this at all, and it's too much.]

[Oh, god. There's a degree of panic Yuya is prepared to deal with and this completely exceeds it. He can't get enough of a response to figure out what exactly is setting him off--there's a guess he can make, but without a clearer picture making assumptions won't help at all.

He's lost until Toki starts biting his hand, and then Yuya lunges for his wrist. He could try pulling it out, but won't being aggressive just make this worse?

So instead Yuya moves to try and pull Toki into a hug, trying to ground him.] You're okay, Toki you're okay. Focus on me, okay?

T...toki..?

[This isn't the typical reaction that comes when you say 'were', or 'lycan'. But it's a sharp enough shift in events that the bear freezes where he stands. This didn't happen, until Toki shouted his name after all. It didn't happen until, specifically him BEING the bear came up.

And there just aren't a lot of reasons for this to happen, from there, except pretty much one thing. Gongenzaka can't approach.

If he approaches, he'll make it worse, won't he.] ...Yuuya, [He manages to croak.] I, the man Gongenzaka, should...

[...He needs to leave the room, doesn't he.]

[He doesn't resist as Yuya hugs him, and he's trying to focus. He's not screaming as loudly, more choking and definitely crying. He's aware he's in the common room, and that's a start. But now he's also aware how embarrassing this is and he's never leaving his room again. He removes his hand from his mouth and its covered in drool and rivulets of blood and he's getting it on Yuya's shirt. He'll apologize later when he stops crying.]

[Yeah, that's something they can deal with later. Toki's calming down, though, and that's good, so Yuya holds the embrace. He looks up at Gongenzaka sadly, knowing what he's suggesting. He doesn't want to tell him to go, but he can't ask him to stay, either.]

[He can't, and as Gongenzaka himself would say...he shouldn't. So he simply nods, and quietly tries to make hinself scarce by heading for his room.

He'll have to ask Yuuya if Toki is alright in the morning...he supposes...]

[ That response is honestly really sad? It's enough to make Peter hesitate before saying anything else, though the instinctive flash of wariness in his face surely tells the whole story already. He looks down at Gon's claws, his posture, his ... tea ...

And also his spider senses aren't blaring danger at him, which is frankly the most important factor here. But even so, he continues to make some faces. ]

I'm not - it's just - are you safe?

[ Is that an offensive thing to ask? Probably. ]

[Naturally it's the most common of offensive questions (if not one of them), so he has an answer. One that is not easy to give.]

The only time, during which that is not a guarantee, I will not be here, [He quietly- and very carefully- speaks.] I swear upon, my very soul- that you see me, before you now, means I am safe.

And, when I suspect, that even slightly, the evening will not be so- I go to the Mythril Cage, or to another place, where I will not harm another.

To do all to prevent that- that, is how I was raised- and how the Gongenzaka Dojo, has always taught those it takes in.

[Toki disentangles himself from Yuya. He's still crying a little, but he's pretty much done with this.]

I'm okay now~!

[He gets off the couch, and he's going to go back to their room and compartmentalize this whole thing, never to be resurrected again.]

[Yuya stumbles back as he's pushed back and has to back up to his feet.]

Are you sure--wait, your hand. It's bleeding!

[Yes, yes it is.]

It's fine!

[There's not a lot, but it's there and now he's on the verge of freaking out again. Blood is not good. He can't stop looking at it.]

It's fine!

[Ooh no he doesn't want this to go to freak out round two. Yuya holds his hands up in a placating gesture.] It is going to be fine. So let's get your hand bandaged, okay?

[yokeye]

[That's a terrible suggestion, Yuya. There will be questions.]

It's just a little blood~!

[He wipes his hand on his pants.]

See? It's gone~!

[There are questions right now.

Yuya pauses, before sucking in a sharp breath and straightening his back with a sterner expression.]

Toki. You bit your hand, you need to at least clean it off and put a bandage on it.

[yokeye]

[He's giving in, because he doesn't want Yuya to be mad. He sits back down on the couch.]

Yes. Okay.

[It is bleeding again after all. But it will be fine.]

I can see how that logic tracks...

*Maya's staring a bit too hard for that to be true, but her tone is even and calm, Maya's false face is very good. She's had practice.*

Someone hurt you, so you take it out on everyone else. If you were hurt by a dressmaker would you only wear pants? Give up cake if it was a baker?

*Yeah, Maya's a mess. She's hurt and afraid. And everywhere she turns people suffer. She's been in this dorm a few days and chaos already happened. And to her, those are connected evenets. She finally breaks of her glaring.*

I trusted someone, he wasn't the person I thought he was. I don't take it out on everyone else. And know that if I was on your floor, taking away my music would do far more harm than you would be able to sense.

*She lost a lot of things already, music is what she has left. Losing that. Hell, fearing it being gone, is part of how she ended up in a darker place than she ever thought she'd be.*

[He'd just bother Ekke, but... he thinks he should give him space to focus on Kano. And this is pretty minor.

Yuya gesture Toki to follow.] There's stuff in our bathroom to clean and cover it. Let's go do that now.

[Maybe it'd do Toki good after all this to calm down in the comfort of his room, anyway.]

I think you're taking this too personally.

I'm not taking it out on you or on anyone else. You have a whole campus to make whatever noise you like. I've asked for one place where I don't have to listen to it. That's not unreasonable.

What is unreasonable is coming specifically to my floor to play because I somehow don't have a right to some peace of mind.

I didn't make that call, Peter neglected to inform me about what was up with Floor Three. But given how much of me is reliant on music? Yeah, I take being told not to play personally.

*In retrospect Maya shouldn't have thrown Imelda's pain back in her face, use her powers to read and play a piece of music just to hurt someone. That's never what she wanted her music to do, but she was all fire and fight and didn't see any other choice. Not that Maya will admit to that.*

I also don't play for me, I play in the hopes that my voice is their voice. They hear something in my playing that helps them. That they're understood, they aren't alone.

And what if someone that needs that ends up on your floor, and your 'peace of mind' keeps me from helping them.

...You don't wanna know where I'd be without music...

[Perfect. Yes. Don't tell anyone else about this.]

Yes~! That's a good idea~!

[He follows Yuya back to their room, hopefully without incident.]

[She continues to frown at Maya, but despite her rather harsh reply, she's not entirely unfeeling for the girl. She sighs.]

Sometimes, niña, you have to make compromises. You can't help one person and hurt another and call that fair. If you simply have to play music for someone, then I suggest you play softly or take it elsewhere. Because if I hear it, I'm putting a stop to it. No exceptions.

Then you should stay out of the Floor One common, I practice there.

Can I go? I need to head into town later to look for work, I didn't budget buying two guitars when I got here.

[There is maybe a small amount of displeasure in her tone at that, but she's not going to complain about the warning after just taking about compromise. Nor is she going to comment on the budget for two guitars.]

[Thankfully the hour is late enough to not run into anyone else. Yuya will wave off everyone else as they exit, up the stairs to the second floor. He isn't very talkative the trip up, not sure what to say...

He tests the door when they reach their room. The knob doesn't turn.] Uh... did you bring your key when you left to meet Kano?

We have keys!?

[He never locks the door.]
