SPRING BREAK - MARSEILLE

SPRING BREAK - MARSEILLE
Log Comm | Network Comm | OOC Comm | Navigation
With the end of finals and the (hopeful) release of all the related stressors, the university offers all students a chance for a little R&R. In this case, with the end of Winter Quarter and the beginning of Spring Break, all students are all given fully paid leave to return to their hometowns if desired and visit their families. In addition, students will have the opportunity to take an all-expenses-paid trip to a fun locale to spend their break.
This year, Spring Break is in Provence. Students will stay in the city of Marseille for the duration, and will be able to explore the city and take part in a number of events around the city. Students will be staying at the Intercontinental Marseille - Hotel Dieu, with all meals provided and a number of tickets for entertainment available. While it is a bit on the cooler side to enjoy the legendary beaches of Provence, the arts scene, food and drink should more than make up for it.
This log is completely open for students and any accompanying faculty to navigate as they please. The hotel is a five-star operation that the school has rented out which means the amenities are lavish and the food is top-notch. Any events in and around the city students are able to attend, their admittance covered entirely by the school.
This log can also be used to cover any personal spring break activities, regardless of whether they're in Marseille or not.

What kind of craft did kids do with those? Was this some new hip thing he'd missed with the decade?

Assuming it was still just a story. After living with all of these other lies about magic not being real, who knows anymore.

Wait a minute.
"Is it... safe for you to be making things with that stuff? The Outlands can be... well they can do strange things to a person." Like raise them from the dead.
no subject
"It should be? Other people use it too. I mean, my hat has mist in it, but the runes keep it under control."
no subject
"Well... okay. As long as it's under control." Please don't let this bite him later. "What are you planning to make with that, then?"
no subject
no subject
He really doesn't like this plan.
"You... want to stick outlands magic into a mask you took from the ruins?" The mask from the kind of super cursed ruins people died in? Those ruins?
"Are you going to show your parents this project?"
no subject
Just maybe not quite the point Héctor was hoping for.
"You know, I should ask them what would be the best thing to use it for."
no subject
Anywhere from supervision to stopping her before things got crazy. Hopefully. God he hopes they're not the rune equivalent of some mage families he's heard of.
no subject
"Probably. They been doing this a lot longer than I have." Probably know a bunch of advance runes to make it better than anything she could. Puella will for sure have to take the mask with her to see what actually could be done.
It does make her want to go home even sooner now though. It's been awhile since they done anything fun together. Things had not really been the same since Puella's flame was discovered. Lots of it concern if sending her to magic school is actually the right choice, and then having to get into touch with some old contacts just to get her there.
"...I kinda miss them."
no subject
But his face soon falls. He looks at her and then up at the stars.
"I'll bet they miss you too. Like crazy. More than they can even say." His brow furrows a moment before a smile is forced. "But you'll see them real soon. Not long at all. You should probably hug them extra tight since you've been away so long."
no subject
She watched Héctor for a little while. Ahhh, that's right. He probably did miss his family too. He had to be here for much longer than she was.
Eventually she went back to silently watching the stars for a little while, figuring it was best not to question it too much. Then her eyes gazed back down to the stairs. Wondering.
Finally she just scooted a few inches closer and slowly leaned against him. Ideally at a time when he wasn't even looking.
no subject
But then he feels a weight at his side, a small one, and he blinks down to find Puella there. His heart gives a pang.
Carefully, he moves his arm back setting it around her so he can give her shoulder a light squeeze. Kind kid. Kinder than he deserved, probably.
no subject
"...I am gonna be here most of tomorrow, so you won't be that lonely!"
no subject
Automatically, he hears himself saying, "Who says I'm lonely?"
Geez, if a kid's calling him out like this he really needs to do better.
"But, that does sound good. I do appreciate the company."
no subject
But now that they were on the subject.
And too late to turn back now."I mean, I'm not sure if anyone else I know is still around either. So we gotta look out for each other!"
no subject
"Heh, that's not a bad plan. Alright. I'll consider it a deal. You and I can look out for each other."
Minding, of course, that he wasn't going to let her get involved in any real problems.
