1; {Adelaide} - June 2nd, Aube 403

[Toki should have prearranged this, perhaps, but spur of the moment has always been more his speed. He carries a large basket, covered with a cloth, as well as a small cooler. He sets them down in the hallway outside Aube 403. It's late afternoon; it wouldn't do to take a vampire out during the middle of the day. Hopefully Adelaide has no plans for the evening; at least it's the weekend and she shouldn't have a class. He knocks on the door loudly.]

2; {Nekane} - June 4th, Nekane's office

[Toki has gathered all of his vision records. Three notebooks that were kept for the sole purpose of vision documentation, two notebooks generally used for classes that have vision notes interspersed throughout, printouts of old text files and sent messages, and a folder of printed photographs documenting other places he's written or drawn vision related information. There may some things missing that he'd completely forgotten about, but it's a thorough, if somewhat incomprehensible, record. As per faculty suggestion, he's come to Nekane's office to discuss his apparent misinterpretations and "conspiracies". He hesitantly knocks on the office door with no enthusiasm.]

3; {Tsunade} - June 17th, Tsunade's office

[As recommended by the faculty, Toki's mandatory therapy component of his disciplinary action verdict has been outsourced. The therapists on staff at the academy found themselves ill-equipped to provide sufficient care to the extent that was needed. Toki has been seeing a psychologist (Dr. Louise Katzenberg) and a psychiatrist (Dr. Etienne LeBlanc) at the hospital in Soleil. Sessions have been long and numerous, and he experienced several breakdowns while in their offices; something which did not work in his favor, and he has been kept at the hospital overnight on more than one occasion. After a thorough review of past behavioral accounts provided, and personal interactions and observations, a tentative diagnosis of several co-morbid illnesses has been recorded, and recommendations made in accordance. This information is now being shared with the academy therapists, counselors, and medical staff.

The doctors have made their diagnoses as follows:
paranoid schizophrenia
panic disorder
dissociative identity disorder spectrum
acute episodes of psychosis and mania

They believe Toki is a danger to himself and others in no uncertain terms. They feel his poor decisions and life choices stem from consistent incorrect perceptions of persecution and suspicion, that his impulsiveness and pressured speech are manifestations of a constant internal state of panic and anxiety. Though he has shown no distinct separate personality, they suggest it is only inevitable with his level of dissociation from reality and should be dealt with before there is a complete break in his psyche. They have noted repeated instances of brief psychosis and manic displays, and believe these can be significantly curbed with correct medications and continued psychotherapy. Behavioral correction is discussed as a future treatment should he make sufficient improvement.

Seven medications have been listed and prescribed. Six from the categories of anti-psychotics, sedatives, and mood stabilizers; the combination of which has been determined to have the least potential for negative interaction with each other. The seventh is an anti-convulsive for frequent seizure activity. Further recommendations include: the use of physical restraints and/or tranquilizers during any periods of acute psychosis and mania in which there is concern for safety, as well as consideration of a wheelchair should seizures remain uncontrolled with medication. Medications are to be left in the academy infirmary, as the doctors feel Toki is not capable of keeping a schedule, nor do they think he will comply if given any choice in the matter. There is a note beside this section in the report which states the academy should pursue legal action to declare Toki incompetent and thus restrict any medical and legal say he may have in the future. They have contacted his parents, who were unaware of his presence at the school, and were adamant that they were not his guardians and it was not their problem.

Toki was allowed to see the report, and he disagreed with the majority of it; absolutely livid by the time he finished reading it, even though he didn't completely understand everything. It resulted in screaming and accusations, which the doctors used as an example of paranoia and made a note of his reaction in an addendum, along with a statement that there is a place for him in the psychiatric wing of the hospital should the academy choose to leave his treatment solely to them.

Now, Toki's back at the academy after the report has been distributed. He waits impatiently in the comfortable chair in Tsunade's office while she reads through it all. It's taking all of his concentration not to scream.]

5; Quad - June 24th

[Around mid-day, Toki wanders the courtyard in the quad. He doesn't know where he's going, and only has a vague sense of where he came from. His jeans are covered in dirt and grass stains. His bare feet are also dirty, and bleeding in some places. He has no shirt on; his collarbones and ribs very prominent and his skin pale enough to be somewhat translucent in places. He's covered in scratches, some small and some longer; most are shallow, but a few bleed. Down the sides of both arms and across his abdomen are sloppy drawings in black marker; all of them either eyes by themselves or the Herald's face with vague and incomplete expressions. The occasional "It's watching!" or "They're coming!" is scrawled in Japanese along side the images. Dirt is caked under his fingernails and a couple of them are jagged and torn. He waves and smiles at anyone who passes by. There is nothing wrong here.]

6; Legionnaire Quarters - Pool - June 30th

[He's not allowed to swim, and he's never had the desire to do so here, but for some reason Toki enters the Legionnaire Quarters today and heads directly for the pool. He's completely dressed, did not bring a bathing suit, and has no intention of using the pool for recreation. He has another purpose. Today, it all became too much for him and he snapped; not a breakdown so much as an epiphany; a euphoria achieved once he made this decision. Escape. An end to it all. No more suffering.

He says nothing to anyone on his way through the building. He doesn't wave or smile at people around; doesn't seem to notice them. They don't matter. Nothing matters but this. Entering the room housing the Olympic sized swimming pool, Toki continues to take no notice of anyone in the vicinity. He strides directly the pool and jumps in. Expelling all the air in his lungs, he sinks to the bottom to sit there, almost peacefully. There's no conscious hesitation as he inhales the water, only the body's physical reaction of trying to save itself from death; choking and gasping and only bringing in more water. His lungs burn and then he feels nothing.]

[It's starting to hit him what he's just done. Where he is. He hauls himself up as much as he can with Yuya's help, the soles of his shoes sliding over the slippery lining of the pool to get leverage. When he does get out, he stays on his hands and knees, coughing up more water until there's none left and he can breathe again.

It's shallow, because he's starting to freak out. The weight of what happened is crushing. He had considered it only in very brief, fleeting moments, when things seemed so unbearably hard, but the thoughts never stayed for even long enough to grasp them before.]

Y-yuya. I'm s-sorry.

[The tears are coming and he doesn't realize it, just slowly tricking down amidst the water dripping from his hair. Oh my god. What did he do?]

[Yuya follows Toki out of the pool once he's sure he's steady enough up there, sitting down and taking a heavy breath. He reaches for Toki's shoulder, as much a reassurance as to stop him from going back in there.]

It's okay, you're here, you'll be okay... what happened?

I don't- I just wanted to... not I didn't mean...

[He can't explain his reasons.]

I didn't want to die, but I wanted to not live? I just wanted it so much and I don't know why!

[It was more disconnected than usual, a sudden urge creeping up, like panic does, and it had to be acted on immediately. A switched flipped on.]

[Yuya's blood runs cold with immediate fear when Toki says that--it wasn't what he wanted to hear. It's something that doesn't surprise him about Toki, but that he'd hoped wouldn't ever get to that point. And now he doesn't know what to do.]

Don't... [His fingers twist in Toki's shirt, worried.] I'll get a teacher? I can get a teacher, I'll get anyone but you can't...

[Toki grabs Yuya's wrist and hisses.]

No! You can't tell them!

[He looks around to see if there were any faculty members in the vicinity. What would they do!? They can't know.]

[Yuya starts when he's grabbed.] But if your treatment isn't working--Toki, you just tried to kill yourself!

It's working! Maybe. Sometimes. Is it!? I don't now! I won't do it again!

[He starts prying Yuya's fingers off his shirt, because he has to run. Yuya will never believe him, after he made that same promise with his eye.]

[Yeah he already did break one promise about stopping to consider his actions and not mutilate himself, didn't he.

Yuya tightens his grip a little with a trembling hand, pulling on Toki's shirt to try and get him to stop.] Toki, wait! Stop, just--talk to me! You don't have to do it this way, please!

You'll tell them!

[And others are watching right now. Do they know? How much did they see?]

I'm sorry, Yuya.

[Toki wrenches his shirt free and runs, a blurry streak vanishing out of the door of the pool area.]

Toki! [He pulls forward as Toki yanks out of his grasp and immediately panics. Still wet, he scrambles to his feet and runs to the lockers to grab his phone and start texting and calling.]

[Once he's out the door, he pushes Odd-Eyss to sniff around and find his scent. He needs to find him.]

[Oh god, oh no. Oh no, oh no, oh no, Yuya's vision blurs out with tears as his heart sinks with fear. He needs a teacher now, he needs--someone. Toki's guards, where are his guards? Who's supposed to be watching him today?

While Odd-Eyes goes off on his own way to sniff out Toki, Yuya circles around campus trying to find Toki's guards or a teacher, whoever's there first.]

[Jail isn't exactly the most... emotionally adroit and comforting adult figure. But she's at least aware enough of her surroundings to notice that 1. there's a kid walking past her and 2. he looks seriously upset right now. And also... damp? For some reason?]

[Deeply aware that she's probably going to regret asking, she calls across the hall at Yuya:]

Hey kid, you okay?

[Yuya skids to a stop, looking up at her with wide eyes. She sticks out as a teacher, thankfully, so he knows Toki's talked to her about his visions.]

Miss Jailbreak! [He rushes to her, breathing heavily.] Toki ran off and his phone is off and I think he's really not okay right now so we need to find him before something happens! I don't know where he went!

Jesus fucking Christ. [She knew she was going to regret asking, but she did, so now it's her job to fix this.] Okay, where was he running from- [Seeing Yuya's "fully clothed and dripping" state plus the faint but noticeable smell of chlorine, she makes an educated guess.] -the pool?

[Why was Toki "really not okay" and in the pool- okay yeah, no, that's definitely a question with no good possible answers.]

Hold on a sec, lemme See... [She closes her eyes and concentrates briefly, frowning as she reaches out with her power, focusing on Toki.]

[Her breath hitches for a moment, and then her eyes snap open.]

Got him, follow me. [She's already moving, heading for the nearest door to the parking lot.] Kid's halfway to fucking Soleil, it'll be faster to take the car.

[Instead of trying to find her car like a normal person, she holds up a hand and snaps her fingers. There's a roar of an engine starting up in response, as her car drives itself over to them.]

Get in, you can explain to me how much "not okay" we're dealing with here while I drive.

[Akechi had followed Toki as far as the Legionaire's Quarters, blending in with shadows to avoid being seen. The gym was too brightly lit for him to sneak through, and he'd been contemplating finding somewhere to change outfits and come out of hiding when his latest victim went rushing out of the building in a blur...leaving behind a trail of water?

Then Yuya came out after him, also sopping wet, and looking panicked. A feeling of dread settled in his stomach, as he realized that whatever Toki had done under the influence of Loki's power had been serious.

It takes him a little while to find a place to come out of hiding, but Yuya's wet tracks are fortunately easy to follow. He catches up just as Yuya is explaining the situation to Jail.]

Sakaki-kun? What's going on?

[There's an audible breath of relief from Yuya as she finds trace of Toki, although he's still just as tense.]

O-Okay, he--[Yuya looks back to Akechi.] Sorry, Akechi, Toki's in trouble and we have to go now!

[He crawls into the passenger side of the car, getting water everywhere.]

[Let's be honest, there's no way that's the worst thing that Jail's had to clean out of her car.]

[She hops in through the rolled-down window of the driver's side instead of bothering to open the door, grabs the wheel, and looks at Akechi.]

Get in if you're going, kid- we're on a time limit here.

[He only hesitates for a split second, part of him not wanting to know what he's done. But whatever it is, it's his fault. He has to take responsibility and help deal with it.

He climbs into the back, closing the door with a bit more force than necessary in his nervous rush.]

[Jail immediately floors it.]

[Luckily, there's almost no one else on the road right now and she has very good reflexes, because this is definitely a very unsafe speed to be driving. Mercifully, she does at least still keep her eyes on the road while addressing Yuya:]

Looked like a clearing in the trees near Soleil, had a big rock in it. Should be there in a minute, so if you got anything I need to know about what's going on here, now would be the time.

[He hopes Toki won't freak out if Yuya finds him with two more people--oh, who is he kidding he'll definitely freak out.

Yuya wrings his hands, staring ahead nervously.] It's, um, I think he's going to get hurt if he's alone. He panicked but I was just trying to help.

[So...he was right. Toki is in real danger, and it's probably because of what he did. He rests his head against the back of the front seat, biting back the urge to laugh nervously as he tries to steady his voice.]

Is that connected to why you're wet? I saw another trail of water...

[Yeah, she's already vaguely concerned about the fact that she's added yet another freaked-out kid to the mix, but at this point leaving Akechi in the parking lot just seemed like an equally bad plan. She's not sure whether he and Toki are friends, but he definitely seemed worried...]

[Right now, though, she's more worried about Yuya.]

This ain't on you, kid. [Her voice is oddly gentle.] Whatever's going on, don't blame yourself for trying to help, okay?

[Yuya takes a deep breath, tilting his head back and closing his eyes. That's easier said than done. Toki's his roommate, so how could he not notice? Weren't there signs, was he just not paying enough attention?]

Okay. Yeah. [He answers them both out of order. Toki said not to tell, and he's still all but implying it. He hopes a clearing means Toki doesn't immediately have a way to hurt himself.]

[It's probably a mercy that Yuya isn't confirming his fears. He already feels sick to his stomach, staring down at his shaking hands.]

You said he turned his phone off? He...I wouldn't be surprised if he was trying to hide what was wrong, if it's something that's been going on for a while.
