no business like show business

WHO: DRAMA CLUB!
WHAT: It's the first club meeting of the year! Let's meet and greet, and then talk about the fall play and our New York trip!
WHEN: January 19th
WHERE: Whatever theatre space there is. Probably Theatre Lenormand?

"Welcome to drama club!"

Michael wait until everyone is present and settled before spreading his hands, creating a few illusory flashes of colored light. Things like this are why a teacher with no actual theatre experience ended up in charge of this club. The meeting is happening in one of the school's rehearsal spaces, which is empty save for a circle of chairs. "For those of you who haven't met me, I'm Michael, your faculty adviser. Now, we're going to start things off with a little warm-up. Two truths and a lie! You - " Michael points to the student to his right. " - start. We'll go around the circle. Should be fun."

This is what you get for having a daemon as your faculty adviser. Icebreakers.

When that's over - entirely without said daemon participating, he is above this - Michael claps his hands together. "So! Some of you know this already, but this year, we've secured funding to take a club trip! We're going to New York City. Gonna see the sights, go to a few shows, all that stuff. This'll be after mid-terms, so don't worry about it right now. You should be focusing on your schoolwork, and responsible things like that. But seriously, who wants to see what? Oh, and you should pick out the play you want to do in the fall. I do have veto power on that, but I also don't really care."

Tyzias looks at Michael, a smirk pulling at her lips, then sighs and shoves her hands into her pockets. She had a fairly good idea of what happened, but hey, if Michael didn't want to talk about it, she wouldn't push the issue. Tyzias owed at least that much to her oldest friend (both literally and figuratively). "Icebreakers, though? Really? I could come up with better fuckin' club plans," she teases.

Tyzias shoots Michael a stern glare. "As your first designated moral compass, I'm gonna have to issue a citation for that," she says, only half-joking. She'd gotten used to picking up on Michael's slip-ups over the years. That's what friends were for, right?

"It's the principle of the thing." Tyzias lectures, holding up a finger. "Schadenfreude at somebody's misfortune that you had no part in is one thing. But actively meddling in order to make people miserable, even if it's a tiny way such as this one, is a very bad thing if it's a conscious decision." It sounds like Tyzias is trying to simultaneously give a lecture to a professor and an elementary school student.

"Do I have to given you the intent lecture again? I've got that thing fuckin' memorized by now." Tyzias sighs, relaxing a bit. Michael was a lot better than he was when she first met the daemon, though. At least Michael was growing even if it was by inches. "...guess it isn't too bad, though," she concedes. "This time. You know, if you applied all the creativity you put into tormenting people into other areas, you could really do some good shit."
