Open!
Who: Nana... and everyone!
What: Banana Stand, training, and dorm hijinks!
Where: The ubiquitous banana stand, out on campus, and Lumiere.
When: First half of August!
Warnings: There's going to be some screaming and panic in prompt three.
I. BANANA STAND
[August begins, classes are ready to start anew, and Nana Daiba is on hand.
The Banana Stand is back. It didn't make an appearance during July, between the Herald and people being gone. Now, though, the snack station is out on the Quad: a large, wooden stand with "BANANICE" painted across the top. Nana is working it -- possibly with help, if you're so inclined -- and handing out free cookies, muffins, slices of banana bread, and more. All of it is flavored, too, with bananas.
She's beaming brightly, waving at everyone -- especially the newer students -- and trying to get them to come over.]
II. WHEN BAKED GOODS GO WRONG
[Nana does a lot of her baking in Lumiere.
But baking at a school with as much magic and strangeness as Daybreak carries... risks. Such as when Nana finds ingredients for sale, which she thought were mundane but high quality, and are actually magical. In this case, it means that there is a rumble from the first floor kitchen -- then the door bursts open, and Nana goes running ahead of... something.]
I DON'T UNDERSTAAAAAAND!
[The something is about a baker's dozen giant banana muffins. They have grown arms and legs; they are groaning audibly, and one hurls a baking tray that Nana just ducks under, before they start to rush forward down the hall and roar.]
Why have my muffins turned against me!?
III. WAKING UP IS THE WORST PART
[Even after the Herald, the dreams don't stop.
Nana hasn't been sleeping so well since June. There's people she can turn to -- the few who know -- but she hides the fact that she is a Seer. Her visions come from the Giraffe; her visions are dreams, and less accurate and have a different cost. Unfortunately, they come more and more often now. Nana is falling asleep, periodically. Maybe it's in class.
Maybe it's out on campus, on a bench or at the side of a building. Maybe it's in a dorm common room. Either way, sometimes, she dozes off...
And then wakes up with a jolt and a start. Sometimes a gasp; occasionally a shout. Nightmares. It might not be the firs time.
ooc: If you'd like this prompt, feel free to set exact circumstances! Ask me if you have any questions.]

Studying, for example. After spending a most of the day in the library, Toki returns to Lumiere late in the afternoon. Passing the first floor common room on the way to the elevators, a shout makes him pause. The common room appears to be empty except for Nana, sitting on the couch and looking a bit unsettled.]
Nana? Are you okay?
no subject
[She looks at Toki with a wide-eyed look for a second. Just a moment before, in her vision, she saw a bunch of students fleeing some sort of alligator. Was he one? Why can't she remember?
How is she supposed to protect any of them?
She hesitates, and then she smiles. It flickers, into a more exhausted look.]
I... guess I didn't sleep very well. Hi, Toki.
no subject
Do you... want to talk about it? I mean, like is it nightmares?
[He has an interest in nightmares. Yuya has them often, and Toki's been researching dream interpretation and keeping notes on his roommate's repetitive dreams. He also spent weeks not sleeping himself, every night being filled with visions of the Herald until it was over.]
no subject
That reminds her of Kano, and his being gone.
Time to think about something else. She looks back at Toki, then she nods.] Sure. Let's go to the third floor, okay?

He's back by the first of August, though, and catches Nana dozing off on one if the benches outside. He approaches from the front, hand outstretched for her shoulder--and then Nana jolts and gasps, and Yuya freezes.] Uh!
no subject
[She jolts. Nana's green eyes are wide as she looks at Yuya -- as she comes away from the nightmare to realize that it's Yuya. She hesitates; then, she forces a smile, and shakes her head.]
Sorry. I just... woke up...
no subject
Yeah, this isn't a place you normally sleep. Is everything okay?
no subject
Just... some restlessness. I didn't sleep very well.
It's okay, really.

live muffins. live, sentient muffins. ]
Okay, okay, hang on!!
[ it sounds like she's going to help, but she pulls out her phone and... ]
I gotta snap a pic of this! Don't move!
i laughed so hard
Who is taking a picture.
Nana sputters mid-run.]
Is now really the time!
[And a tray narrowly misses beaning her in the back of the head.]
i'm so glad
[ is it really though, nadia? is it really. nadia snaps a few pics as nana runs. ]
Thanks for the action shots! Now let's get these things under control--
[ that tray? well. nadia steps in to try and push nana out of the way, but it decks her in the head instead. ]

[She hears the commotion as she's entering the building, and rather than go to the third floor, she peeks into the hallway of the first. Seeing Nana fleeing from baked goods catches her by surprise--but not for long.]
Nana! This way! [She shouts to the girl, shooting a bolt of fire past her and knocking aside a spatula that goes flying from the back of the group.]
no subject
Th-thank you, Miss Rivera!
I-I didn't mean for this to happen! I was just baking the way I usually do!
[Good shot with the fire bolt, too, she thinks.]
i;
[She approaches the stand with a grin. Yes, she will take some banana bread. She doesn't need it or get anything from it, but it's still delicious banana bread.]
How's business?
[For as much as giving things out for free is a business.]
no subject
It's going well! I think it's a big hit, once again.
How has your baking gone?
no subject
Seems to be!
And it's been going pretty good - and I've been doing a lot of practice making more savory stuff.
[A lot of things with cheese, for No Particular Reason.]

BANANA STAND
For the most part he's been trying to just press on. Continue things. Maybe he'll go on that vacation there's supposed to be, or Is already, he doesn't know. Right now it's easier to stay at his dorm, somehow.
He's trying.
But it's fairly obvious that the good mood he shows is Fake when he goes toward the Bananice stand.] Ah...I, the man Gongenzaka, see you have been busy?
[And Nana probably sees that Someone hasn't been going at things with their full 100% lately.]
no subject
She smiles at him, and then she offers a muffin out wordlessly.]
Mm-hmm.
Want to have a seat? I keep a couple of stools for just that.
no subject
Complicated is going to be putting it Lightly. Gongenzaka does take a muffin however, as well as a seat.] Mnh...Thank you, Nana.

Gongenzaka is maybe a bit too quiet.]

I didn't realise there were so many things you could make with bananas... [ He sounds pretty awed. ]
no subject
She nods her head.]
Bananas are wonderful! They can be used with a lot of things... and they taste great on their own. But... I've been learning recipes since I was six.
