When: The week after zombie mission and Gwen's arrival.

Fixer-Upper (Aube Floor 3)

[ Multiple midnight dumpster runs later, Peter finally has a decent collection of stuff to work on here. The common room on the third floor of Aube has been temporarily taken over by junk and tools, which have been loosely sorted into different piles. Here's a bunch of electronic parts. Here's some casings that seem mostly intact. These are screens, that appears to be a pile of ancient game console tidbits... The biggest item is an old CRT TV that is just wrecked. But - it's not what he's working on right this second. No, he seems to be focused on multiple funny-looking bracelets laid out on a cloth. He's had at least three requests for webshooters by now, and he aims to get them done today. Also, finally fix the one that Kano busted.

See what he's up to? Yell at him for taking up all the space? Or maybe if you ask him nicely, he'll build something fun for you.

In this prompt (as well as all of the others!) Peter has a fresh set of claw marks on his face. The cuts are clean and healing nicely, but obviously very fresh. Someone ran into something nasty lately. ]

STARR Club

[ Who the hell was dumb enough to let Peter start a club again? Oh wait, this is technically Gohan's fault probably. Though honestly, it's safer than just letting all these technically inclined idiots blow up their dorm room or something.

The STARR Club (Science, Technology And Runes/Robotics) was technically up and running in the first few days of school. Pete's definitely been in and out doing stuff. But now? It's officially, definitely open, and Peter is heading up the first meeting. He's. Frankly a bit overwhelmed? Please someone else take this over so he can go back to making webshooters in the corner like he actually wants to do. ]

So uh - I guess we need rules? Or something? To be official.

Soleil, Returning Late

[ Of course that just covers the daytime activities. At night ... Peter tries to sleep, he really does, but inevitably he wakes up at some point and just needs to leave. Swing out to Soleil, get some fresh air come back at an ungodly hour, whatever. Today he's donned his hobo spider suit to go foil some midnight muggings in the local town. He's also taking a swing through campus too, so maybe you see this mysterious Spider-Man out and about?

Or, perhaps worse, you catch him just as he's sneaking back into Aube at 3 AM. The suit is tucked away, but he definitely is sneaking through the hallways up to his room, trying not to look guilty. ]

Spider Astronomy - CLOSEDish

[ Whose idea was this again? It doesn't really matter, honestly; Peter would have been up here regardless and the other two spider kids are nerdy enough this likely appealed to them too. Early in the morning of January 21st, Peter sneaks his way up to the roof of the Aube dorms, carrying a duffel bag full of junk with him. It's cold, as always, but the night is clear, and they have a perfect view of the moon. Pete's here to set up some blankets, put together the world's worst telescope, and watch the lunar eclipse with Gwen and Miles. He's even gotten a couple thermoses full of hot soup from the kitchen. ]

D'you think the faculty does some kind of weird blood moon ritual or something for this?

[ It wouldn't surprise him, honestly. This place is weird enough already.

Of course if you're up on the roof at about the same time (doing the same thing, maybe!) it wouldn't be hard to run into the trio. ]

[ He rubs at his face a bit now that it's less gross and smoky. ]

Oh, I was making explosive web fluid.

[ As if that explains everything. ]

Uh, so it'll explode?

I assumed that, yes...but why do you need 'web fluid' to explode things..?

'cause that's what I use. With my webshooters and stuff.

[ He flicks his wrist, showing Gon the weird bracelet on his wrist. ]

Yes, but why is Explosion necessary..?! [He yelps, gesturing to the exploded mess.] Is being able to catch those falling, or similar, not enough?! [he asks, before coughing as he corrects himself.]

...that is to say...assuming, of course, this is akin to the 'Spiderman's' methods...

[...his words say secret but the awlward glance away says He Knows,]

[ Oh. Sigh. There goes one person who didn't realize he was secretly a superhero. Does anyone believe the ruse at this point? ]

I mean, I gotta do that too? But sometimes you just need to blow stuff up too.

....It seems to be...an excess of force, personally... [But...he can't really argue so instead he'll focus on opening the first aid kit to get things out.]

Sometimes you really, really need it. My first real mission with the Avengers, I had to fight a dude who was sixty feet tall.

[ His face is ... less gross, at least, so Gon can tend to him now. ]

Hauh!? You di- Do you not mean spider-

[Fumbling with some alcohol swabs, he pauses and realizes what happened.] ...Aaah...

...I had hoped to better preserve that, for you... [He laments, sighing.] ...well, in that case...hnn. Even against the largest, an explosion...it is not necessarily the answer. While it may strike the opponent, certainly, it can create much more damage to the surroundings. [He inclines his head somewhat to Peter, hoping he considers what that could entail. Such as...his ruined house in New York?Or at least that was where they put him...] Have you heard of it? Or at least, the 'principles'?

[He's not saying you should learn judo, Peter, don't worry.]

Look, man, I appreciate it, but I get it. My cover's totally blown.

[ He's very grateful but. Let's not pretend. ]

I'm not talking about just blowing up people or buildings. But if I'd had something like blow up at his feet? I could have knocked him over more easily.

Mnng...it does not seem very fair upon yourself, to use my slip, as proof of this...my smell is greater than even a dog, after all...

[But anyway.]

Primarily, I speak of utilizing the opponent's own strength and momentum to their advantage! Though, it appears you were already close to that thought yourself..?

...hmnn...I suppose, with small, controlled explosions that would he effective, but the focus then, should be on how to control it...

[Gon trails off, apparently disappearing into his own thoughts on the idea as he frowns. Peter may need to get his attention again, what with him still holding a half opened swab.]

[ Oh. He brightens a bit at that. ]

Yeah, that's what I actually did. I whipped around him like in that movie with the snow planet and tripped him up with my webs.

[ So there, he does understand it! He just sometimes also needs explosions.

Also, focus Gon. He eyes him for a moment, then looks at the swab. ]

You gonna use that buddy?

MH- Yes, my apologies! [he exclaims, shaking himself and opening the packet and getting the swap out.] This may sting, somewhat, [he warns, unsure if any cuts may have opened. He begins lightly dabbing at the wounds and soot, continuing.]

60 feet...that is many meters, however... I do not know what movie it is, you are referencing, but it sounds to be, an impressive battle..! Did you target the ankles, or the knees, to cause their fall..?

[ Ow. It does sting, at least around where the claw marks intersect with his mouth. The mark across his nose is deep but reasonably well healed, and the one on his chin is barely there. The mouth one, though. That hurts. He winces a bit while Gon works. ]

A little of both? I kinda attached to a dude who could fly in rune armor and then I went around him a bunch of times.

[There is a pause as he considers what that even looks like. He isn't sure he has it in the end.] Hmnn...impressive team work...

...but then naturally, it is not a technique which can be repeated alone...

[He glances at the mess again and sighs, before going back to the swab work.] ...this flammability is still a concerning trade however..

[Apparently Gongenzaka's natural state really is just the mom-friend, somehow.]

Right, exactly. Hence the explosive web idea.

[ He holds till, letting Gon work. The wound is nicely healed, all things considered. Just raw and pink yet. ]

Oh, all my webs are pretty flammable. Trust me.

That is no less concerning..! [He protests- but, he's done the cleaning.] Mnh... That is all of it...I would recommend, cleaning your face thoroughly later all the same, though...

...Additionally, I cannot do much with this gauze at the moment...it may be best, to let them heal open to the air, for now...

[Anyway, webs.] ...It is a shame, you cannot simply shoot webs inlaid with runes, or similar... I imagine, that would solve many problems, with these risks...

Yeah I don't think runes would work? The fluid expands on contact with air. But ... maybe I could put runes on the shooters?
